all round lovely hotel in excellent position

Posted Mar 11, 2015
Pros: location and standard of hotel
Cons: Provide tea and coffee in rooms
Location: great location near old town
excellent hotel in old town and on the coast. All rooms have balconies and well equipped, only thing missing are tea and coffee bags but there is a kettle. The best thing about this hotel is the location for dining out in the old town. Staff all very friendly and I would book here again

Well positioned hotel with excellent sea views.

Posted Feb 24, 2015
Cons: A double bed would have been preferred, whilst the singles, although large, were cramped for two.
Location: Several cashpoints in the area. Taxis and buses near by. All the Old Town restaurants were easily accessible.
Ideally located for the Old Town, Town centre, harbour and cable car to Monte. Friendly service with multi-lingual staff. Pool and spa facilities were good. Room was spacious and comfortable.

What a good place to Stay.

Posted Feb 20, 2015
Pros: Position.Position.Position.
Cons: A little more soundproofing.at the Market end of restaurant road.
Location: Near a good baker and a good bar
Having the refrigerator and eating facilities in the room was the icing on the cake.

Well situated sea front hotel

Posted Feb 2, 2015
Pros: The kitchenette facilities and spacious room made it an ideal 'home from home'.
Cons: Information about tours and walks was not displayed & perhaps could have been made available in the shop, which was poorly stocked.
Location: Walks along the sea front, exploring the old town, access to buses and cable car.
So convenient for the interesting old town, this was a surprisingly peaceful hotel with excellent facilities. The fact that most of the guests seemed to have stayed there before is testament to it's popularity..

Schönes zentrales Urlaubshotel

Posted Dec 30, 2014 on Hotels.com
Relativ kleiner Pool. Fitnessraum nicht komplett nutzbar, einzelne Geräte defekt. Frühstück reichlich, keine großen Abwechslungen. Küchenzeile hat entgegen den Angaben keinen Geschirrspüler.

Comfortable and luxurious hotel in Funchal

Posted Dec 21, 2014
Pros: It's location near the sea and in the old town. The gardens and rooftop seating area.
Cons: Food quality in bar is excellent but meals are very large. Some smaller meals could be offered. Food from buffet in restaurant could be hotter.
Conveniently situated hotel in the old town. Easy to get around as the area around the hotel is flat. The indoor pool was never crowded. Very pleasant new area with sun beds and a jacuzzi on the roof. This is a good place to see the mountain scenery, the view of the sea and the cruise ships. Garden is full of interesting and beautiful plants and trees and is a very pleasant place to sit. An excellent hotel to have a very restful stay. A street of small restaurants adjacent to the hotel. Suitable for couples, a group of friends or for someone one travelling alone.

Good location but nothing to write home about

Posted Dec 1, 2014
Location: Lots of good to great restaurants within walking distance. Definitely eat at Mozart's.
This hotel was okay, but certainly not the 4-5 stars others wrote about. Location is good, accommodations were okay. Breakfast was a glorified continental buffet. Rooms were large but nothing too fancy. Front desk staff weren't very friendly. Wifi costs extra and they actually charge for use of the room safe. No concierge or any good recommendations for activities. Hotel geared toward those in their late 60s+

Prima 4 sterren hotel, centraal gelegen in Funchal

Posted Nov 29, 2014
Pros: ligging, kwaliteit, personeel.
Cons: Weinig stopcontacten op de kamer. Stroom werkt dmv kaartje in sleuf stoppen. Maar zodra je die er uit haalt moet je de wekker opnieuw instellen.
Location: Veel restaurants in de nabije omgeving. Aanrader " O'Regional" .
