“Hotel Rocamar a Great place to stay.”

We would stay at the Rocamar again if we are able to visit Maderia. Our room was a very good size. and the fact it had a fridge and other kitchen facilities was a bonus. Our room was spotless and the Hotel staff were both helpful and pleasant..

The hotel is wonderfully located in a peaceful zone. We slept to the sound of the waves each evening. Yet we could be in busy Funchal in just a few minutes by hotel car, local bus or taxi. The breakfast buffets were varied and yummy. The front desk was friendly and helpful. And the hotel was clean.

Great hotel in almost every way. Only a short easy drive from the airport and Funchal city. Hotel built onto a rocky coastal frontage with numerous terraces for sunbathers and a seawater outdoor swimming pool. Our only concerns were that we requested a double bed and were allocated a room with twins pushed together. We didn't request a change as the room itself was probably the best in the hotel with lovely sea views, close to reception and with self-catering facilities. Breakfast was excellent although the coffee wasn't the best. We only used the restaurant once as nearby local restaurants were cheaper and of excellent quality. A hire car would be best but the hotel runs free buses into town and to the airport. However, parking is limited. Indoor pool and full leisure facilities available free at next door partner hotel.

A lovely hotel in a quiet location, ideal for older travellers who just want to relax and unwind. All staff were extremely helpful and courteous at all times. the hotel also offerred a free bus in to Funchal.

We found the hotel well maintained, the standard of the room was first class and very good value. The pool and fitness facilities with jacuzzi, sauna and steam room at the jointly owned hotel next door added that finishing touch, free, but may be a charge for fitness which we did not use. All in all we had an an enjoyable time on a very pretty island and hope to visit again in the future.
