“A Madeiran Gem”

An extremely modern furnished hotel in a good location with superb staff. The hotel is accessed from the road at the top of the cliff on the 6th floor and you travel DOWN to the guest rooms and the swimming pools. Guest rooms are generous size. The views from the patio - served from both the bar and restaurant - are stupendous. The service was first class, breakfast buffet excellent. Evening meals vary from a buffet to silver service depending on the evening. Outdoor pool and patio are small but adequate, indoor pool & spa are a good size. Courtesy buses are operated during the day into Funchal but outside of these hours, there is a bus stop within a few metres for local buses into town. We would very much love to return to Madeira and if we do it just HAS to be the Regency Cliff again next time!

“A Quiet Getaway”

Set a top a cliff the views from the sea view rooms is great. Hotel staff are welcoming and informative about the area. It is worth hiring a car for a couple of days to explore the other side of the island and the mountains. There are some great views from the top. The Funchal Cable to the botanical gardens is worth the ride and whilst we didn't try it ourselves the sledge back down looked adrenalin filled ! Madeira is a quiet island and ideal for a those looking for a quiet relaxing holiday. The Regency Cliff was an ideal place to stay. 20 mins from the airport and only 10 mins from funchal town centre. Cost about 7 euros in a taxi each way. Breakfast at the hotel is very good and you can sit and eat Alfresco or indoors. Most of the hotel staff speak excellent english. The hotel has the feeling of a quiet, intimate hideaway. We went in the 4th week of October and temps were still 23/24 oC each day. Would definitely go back.

“Fantastic Hotel”

Booked a Superior room for 7 days - given room 210 which had 2 large balconies - facing east & south - great to open them both up and get a breeze blowing - but needed Air Conditioning overnight. Breakfast included very nice. Offered a deal for Hotel Evening Meal - 3/4 nights at set rate (wine extra) - good value for money. Catering staff were all truly outstanding. Hotel Pool rather small for swimmming - Pool Bar snacks does excellent Fish! You can go to the Lido below for a few Euros all day.

“Good quality hotel”

A good quality, reasonably sized and priced hotel. As such, the attention to detail and friendliness by the staff was excellent, particularly Reception staff, waiting staff and leisure facilty attendants.

“An extremely wonderfu holiday”

We found that everything had been well planned and it all ran so smoothly from the minute we arrived on the Island our transport was awaiting us and a very helpful driver made us feel welcome.The Receptionist at the hotel was very informative and professional and we were immediately relaxed. Our room was very comfortable and the basket of fruit was an added bonus. The breakfasts were very plentiful and could accomodate the needs of any guest. Our room was always cleaned, mostly when we were at breakfast, and left in pristine condition, which was`a delight to return to. I would recommend this holiday and hope that we can return again to the beautiful island of Madeira.

“A brilliant base for staying in Madeira”

We found this hotel a perfect choice for our holiday - contemporary and modern, comfortable rooms with big balconies, great views and a sense of privacy, friendly atmosphere and good service. We went B&B so can't comment on catering, although the breakfast buffet was extensive and good quality. The hotel location is a good 40min walk from Funchal town centre, but there's lots to keep you occupied near the hotel and with plenty to explore on the way to the town centre, we usually enjoyed the walk. When in a hurry, the regular free shuttle bus, local buses and taxi rank just up the road meant location really wasn't an issue. Great hotel, would thoroughly recommend for a peacefull, fuss free stay in a modern, high quality hotel.

“Definitley will go back! Can't wait!”

We really enjoyed our stay - we couldn't fault the hotel at all. Although not in the centre of town the bus and taxi service is excellent so wasn't a problem. The food was lovely and plenty of it and all the staff were friendly and very helpful. I can recommend sipping a cocktail under the stars on their outdoor chairs overlooking the sea... Can't wait to return...

“A most relaxing holiday”

A most enjoyable holiday. The weather was exellent for January and the hotel provided a most welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast on the terrace was a delight. We look forward to returning and to explore the island further.

“WOW!! factor”

We arrived at the hotel, tired from the travelling but were soon awakened with the WOW factor. We opened the door and drew back the curtains and it took aour breath away. It was amazing. Staff all very kind and helpful, ameneties perfect, cleanliness was paramount. Would go back tomorrow
