“a perfect hotel”

It's a perfect hotel to relax and feel comfortable, especially for families with kids. It's so spacious that you can feel as if you are at home. I really recommend to use this hotel.

“Fantastic views”

Just returned from Pestana Bay and can thoroughly recommend this hotel. The view from the hotel is unobstructed across the sea and to wake in the morning to sound of waves on the beach is so relaxing. We travelled with our sons aged 6 and 4 and had a junior suite which was basically two adjoining rooms. Great to put them to bed and have the whole other room to ourselves. Plenty to do with children in Madeira. No theme parks just the natural beauty of the island to explore. Porto Monitz is a must and there are black sandy beaches at Canical and Porto Santo. Would love to go back.

When we arrived at Funchal airport unfortunately our luggage didn't (arrived 2 days later), needless to say we were extremely disappointed. When we got to the hotel we were not in the best of moods, we checked in and explained to the lady on reception what had happened and from that moment she and everybody else at the hotel couldn't have helped more. Regular phone calls to the airport on our behalf were made and everybody I spoke at the hotel seemed genuinely concerned. All the hotel staff were extremely polite and friendly at all times. The hotel was spotless and everything was in working order and every room comes with a sea view, the 4 stars are well deserved. We booked bed and breakfast only as we intended eating out in the evening, but the standard of the food and setting of the hotel restaurant were so good that we only ate out once. Again the service at meal times was excellent, I don't think we could have had a better setting for meal times breakfast by the sea and your evening meal on the terrace watching the sun go down with a glass of wine. Will be going back soon..

“great Madeiran holiday”

Excellent hotel with very good facilities, clean and comfortable with friendly staff. Lots of entertainment provided - could perhaps have had more comfier seating in the lounge but other than that very good.

“Excellent Location”

The hotel is situated in a picturesque bay with all rooms facing the sea. There is a lovely terrace area where you can eat and drink with plenty of sun shade if required. There are a couple of restaurants located within 500mtrs of the hotel and located on the sea front with lovely views of the bay. The staff in the hotel are very friendly and efficient with an excellent standard of service. The hotel is more suited to people without families although there is a small play area and a section of the pool area for children only. Overall a first class hotel.

“Good Beach Location”

Good Beach Location, being outside of Funchal makes car driving easier with direct access onto main roads. Clean, tidy and well equipped. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice garden and pool area. Good to have beach or pool option with children with good visibility to both from the pool area.

“A truly wonderful hotel”

We have just returned from the Pestana Bay. The hotel is situated a little way out of Funchal but this is a bonus. It sits in a bay and every room has a magnificent sea view. Getting into Funchal is easy, simply take the courtesy bus provided Free by the hotel or pay 1.5 Euros and get the scheduled service. The staff in the hotel are an absolute delight and the managemebt deserve special praise for this. There is a wonderful shopping mall nearby with a brand new six cinema multiplex featuring films in English. We will definitely be returniing to the Pestana Bay. Book it soon before everyone finds out about this wonderful gem!

“Highly Recommended”

This was our second visit to this hotel and we will happily go back there. All rooms face the beach and have a fantastic view. The staff are always helpful and friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfast is an extensive buffet, with champagne on Tuesdays and Fridays. At present the coast path is closed which makes the hotel a bit more isolated by foot, but this I understand is only short term while it is upgraded. A few miles out from Funchal but plenty of facilities near by with the added benefit of being quieter.

“Well located hotel on a lovely island”

On our first visit to Madeira, we chose Pestana Bay after reading reviews and were not disappointed. Our ground floor room had a patio on garden; was very quiet apart from the lovely sound of waves breaking on the beach. Our only complaint was that hotel is at bottom of a steep cliff; the shuttle bus worked well but we would have liked clear information on reaching the city transport network including a bus map and timetable. Maps of any useful kind were not easily available Hotel was very welcoming and friendly
