“Amazing Balcony and Excellent Service”

We recently returned from a stay at the Suite Eden Mar and had a wonderufl stay. Our room (a Studio) had an enormous balcony overlooking the pools and with a fantastic sea view, with its own sunloungers. The room was well equipped and the kitchen had all the basics needed for holiday self-catering. The staff were so helpful- attending to all requests as soon as we asked. We ate in the hotels Restaurant Med several times and couldnt recommend it highly enough- food and service excellent. The only downside was the buffet restuarant which we would not recommend. Overall, a quiet and relaxing hotel suitable for families. We would definitely recommend.

“Love Madeira!”

My second stay at the wonderful Suite Hotel Eden Mar. The rooms are all updated and clean. Four very nice pools, excellent spa and beautiful, fragrant gardens. Lots of restaurants around and a large market down the street. I love how peaceful the area is and that this hotel is not one of those modern, concrete, cold (in my opinion) resorts. Breakfast and dining in hotel good and it's only a half-hour walk into town center or take the shuttle. I would stay there again (and hope to) and would recommend the Eden Mar and it's friendly staff who unbelievably remembered me from my stay two years prior! Bom Viagem!

“Very well run hotel”

This hotel is very well managed. All staff were excellent. The location may seem a bit out of Funchal but it is only 4 euros by taxi and the advantage is that there is a lot more space at the hotel and in its vicinity. Useful to have kitchinette in room. Would definitely return.

“Suite Hotel Eden Mar Christmas 2010”

We had a very nice stay at this hotel. The hotel actually consists of 3 hotels, the Eden Mar Suite, the Porto Mare and The Residence - all connected internally. The Residence is for timeshares, the Porto Mare (in the middle) is the main hotel - normal rooms, the Eden Mar Suite (we stayed in here) has kitchenette rooms. We had a friend in the Porto Mare and so can comment on that room too. Both rooms were excellent. They were similarly sized (superior studio I believe) and faced the sea (so South facing) with plenty of room, twin large beds (made into one super sized double on request), table and chairs, bathroom with bath and shower over - all very well appointed, clean and tidy and really very comfortable. The rooms both opened to a nice balcony overlooking pools and the sea beyond, table and chairs on the balcony. The Eden Mar Suite room has a very well thought out kitchenette, just ideal for self catering a few meals for the two of us - a twin hob, sink, cleverly designed draining rack, fridge and self closing bin to keep any odours in. Pots, pans, cutlery etc. all provided and all looked new. I have to say I was most impressed by the kitchenette bit as it was just ideal and gave us the freedom to eat when/what we wanted, either in the hotel restaurants, eat out or cook in. Local supermarket behind the hotel proivded everything needed too. You can use any of the facilities of all 3 hotels, which are great - with the indoor/outdoor heated pool a favourite.

“Highly recommended”

We had a thorughly enjoyable stay at the Eden Mar. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel, although large, has plenty of space - bars, restaurants and swimming pools - and we never felt it was crowded. The location suited us with several buses services to the centre of Funchal. The room was very comfortable with a sunny balcony. It was recommended to us and we would recommend it to our friends.

“Fantastic, will definitely be going back”

Our first stay at Eden Mar Hotel and first visit to Madeira. The hotel was faultless, friendly and efficient staff, large, comfortable room with beautiful views and everything you could possibly wish for, from kettle to robes to beach towels & even a little beach bag. Hotel was absolutely spotless, excellent restaurants (buffet dinners were top notch!!), very comfy lounges with the option of peace and quiet or classic entertainment. Something for everyone, and having checked out a few other 4 & 5 star hotels nearby, we would definitely choose the Eden Mar again. Plenty of nearby shops (& handy supermarket) and varied restaurants, and a 15 minute walk one way to casino (small but fun!) and harbour, and a beautiful walk the other way along a coastal promenade which gives stunning views. The walks are very hilly (a couple of them we called Cardiac Hill, huff puff!!!!) so beware if you have problems walking, but the views are well worth the effort! I cannot say enough about the hotel or the island - it may not be for youngsters looking to go partying and clubbing (all the better for the middle-aged gang!!!!) but is perfect for walking, relaxing and taking in the scenery.

“Relaxation on tap!”

The staff at the Hotel made us extremely welcome and we were afforded an upgrade to an apartment. The week passed too quickly-so much to do,relax in the extensive grounds, take advantage of the spa treatments,choice of three good restaurants serving quality food, sightseeing, inexpensive local transport, I could go on....

“Excellent hotel staff very friendly”

We only stayed 2 nights as this was a surprise anniversary break. What struck my wife and I was the helpful attitude of the staff. It was not overly busy which probably helped but everyone had a smile and nothing was too much trouble. The facilities are excellent and above all clean.I think there was about 4 pools we used the largest which was immaculate. The room was clean and everything worked, breakfasts are excellent, evening meals are expensive though but there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Need to stay longer than 2 days, can't wait to go back

“Second visit as good as first”

Everything about the hotel is excellent and the fact this was our second visit speaks for itself. The only aspect I would change is that the beds were a bit hard and my wife and I would prefer a double bed rather than 2 singles.
