“Nice getaway”

Nice, very modern hotel. Easy access to many restaurants and waterfront. Conveniently located, more local and not in the typical "tourist" trap area.

“Excellent place to stay in Funchal”

Aside from being located in a shopping mall (which isn't really noticeable once you're in the hotel), this was a great little hotel which is well located in Funchal. There is free valet parking. The restaurant ("Uva") is very good. The room was clean, comfortable and contemporary. Breakfast was very good.

“Excellent quality, upscale, but reasonably priced”

Excellent location; staff very friendly and helpful; breakfast buffet excellent quality & selection; gormet Restaurant excellent variety, quality, quantity; wine list very good & moderately prices. Located in building above a large shopping mall. My only caution is that the room architecture & especially design is very designed to be unique, modern, and especially different. There are "function" aspects that take a back seat to this "form" approach, which can be somewhat frustrating. Example: lighting is too complicated to figure out how to control; shower room is nice size, be with a ~pebble floor which can kill your feet if you have tender feet, unless you request a bath mat to put down. None of these would deter me from going back. Overall excellent choice for me.

“higher expectations”

hotel located in city center, very good in case You foucus on shopping and city acitivities, but not prefect for relax. You can hear city traffic and noise all the time, when You are in Your room. A lot of efforts put on design not always functioning in a way You could expect from designer names behind project. Food and wine list superb however and it covers almost any invonenience You may feel.
