We spent one week in a one bedroom apartment in this wonderful property. The location is magical, right next to the Cabo Girao sea cliff with great views to the water, quiet, away from the hubbub of the towns, yet reasonably close to most sightseeing and a good base to explore the entire island. The apartment was clean, spacious and immediately felt like home. Nice bedroom, fully equipped kitchen and great balcony. Parking right below. The property has a convenient grocery store, two nice pools, a spa and several other amenities we did not use because we were out and about the whole day. Overall, we were very satisfied by this stay and it was excellent value for money.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was a good location to explore Madeira. It had great amenities for our family. Really liked the fact that the grocery store at the resort had very affordable prices (in some cases better than we found at the local supermarkets). Most of the staff we found to be very friendly. Our apartment was clean and well-equipped. They had access to a free laundry room and the resort has a shuttle and access to excursions if you don't want to book your own.

There are two pools, and saunas, but they close fairly early. Lots of cars coming through the area to see Cabo Girao. The apartment was well decorated and comfortable, but ants were all over the kitchen. Impossible to store any food or cook. We had to place our completely empty, yet infested with ants, garbage bin outside, as soon as we arrived. The WiFi was very slow, unable to do any work. Plenty of parking.

Madeira November 2022
Village Cabo Girao provided great value. While the property is a bit dated everything was very clean and in good order. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The onsite grocery was well stocked and prices were reasonable so we were able to be self-sufficient during our stay. The views from the property are outstanding but note that it is a long & winding road down from the heights. If you seek a quiet escape and do not need to be in the midst of nightlife, I can certainly recommend.

This place is wonderful! The views down the cliff to the ocean, the palm trees, the two swimming pools! The staff are really friendly and will do everything to help. The apartments are spacious and have everything you need. It’s an ideal place to holiday with children. We’ve been twice and already booked our third stay.

it's on top of the mountain so you definitely need a car to get here, otherwise you can take taxi from major towns below but would highly recommend a car hire. plenty to do on site for adults and kids, excellent games room and excellent restaurant for dinner, reaonable price too compared to nearby restaurants and high quality. would like a bit more variety for the breakfast but it's all fresh cooked everyday. nice view too.

Beautiful location with great views of the sea and coastline. The hotel has loads of sports and games on site. The food in the restaurant and the poolside bar is delicious. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. There are walks of the levadas mapped out from the hotel for you to you walk. Local buses stop very nearby, so it’s very easy to visit other towns, including Funchal. They have a large DVD collection which you can use for free which was useful for entertaining the kids when we were in the room. The rooms were clean and well equipped. We had a great holiday and I would definitely go back.

Spectacular hillside/cliff top resort
Stayed in a good-size one bedroom apartment , with full kitchen facilities. There are great views from the apartment and large balcony area. The resort offers excellent sporting facilities too. It helps to be in good physical shape to stay here though due to its hillside location, therefore lots of steps everywhere. It helps too to have a hire car and one with a powerful engine: we were often in first or second gear on the steep access roads! An excellent resort though and one we will be happy to return to.

Spectacular property on steep hillside location overlooking the sea and coastline. Excellent facilities; pools x 3, tennis courts, crazy golf, bowls etc etc and all very tastefully laid out. Apartments are all of excellent standard, fully kitted out to cook if you want or very good restaurant & bar on site.

Lovely clean apartment. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We took the bus into Funchal which was an interestingly scenic journey in. The hotel do offer a shuttle bus service but local bus a lot cheaper. Very scenic area around hotel but not much else. Nearest town is fishing village of Camera los Lobos which is about €18 in taxi or bus for €1.30! Good pool and facilities in hotel though shop a bit pricey. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic week in our 2 bedroom apartment. Activities for the children organised daily and a choice of warm outdoor or indoor pools. Poolside bar/Cafe open til 6pm and then lovely more formal restaurant open from then on. Dont miss miradouro restaurant up the hill.

Dizzy heights of Madeira
A wonderful resort high in the mountains with lovely sea and country views.Good food and very helpful staff in all departments makes this a happy and comfortable resort. A long way from other facilities but a bus runs from nearby into villages and Funchal. Great for relaxing or if you like trekking a good base for mountain walks. However not good if you have walking difficulties although there is a courtesy bus around the (large) site.

Our stay at Cabo Girao was wonderful. The accommodation was really nice, lovely, clean and spacious with a big balcony and amazing views over the sea. Staff at the complex are charming and really helpful. There is also a lovely onsight restaurant.

Excellent apartments over looking the sea
Fantastic apartments, a real home from home, everything you would need has been thought of and placed in the apartments, kitchen is especially well equipped. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living area, a kitchen and a furnished balcony with a sea view. Maids make the beds etc every day except Sunday. The pool and bar area are fantastic too. Staff so helpful, particularly those on reception. The complex is high up on a hill which makes for a pleasant climate, cooler in the morning and evening, sleeping was no problem. However, there are many steps between reception and the apartments. The location is quiet and idyllic, quite isolated really. A car would be a good idea. However, several restaurants in Camara de Lobos will send free mini buses, you just have to book in advance and the hotel offers a shuttle to Funchal etc. We had a lovely holiday here.

Our experience of Village Cabo Girao was so good we almost don't want to tell anyone in case it gets booked up! The apartment itself was spacious and clean, with wonderful ocean views. The onsite facilities were perfect for us as a family with 9 & 10 year old boys. In particular, we appreciated the fact that equipment was provided free-of-charge for all the activities- mini golf, tennis, bowls, pool, table-tennis etc. Also the decent-sized pools were heated to a comfortable temperature so we could swim even on a cloudy day. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Although we didn't eat in the restaurant every night, we can highly recommend the BBQ night where the food was plentiful and tasty. Location wise, the apartments are near the top of a sea cliff, so the drive up is a little steep, as is the walk back up to your apartment from the main hotel! So perhaps not good if you have mobility issues, but for us, as a fairly active family, we cannot fault it! Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Room with a View
This Resort is the best for location, each room or villa has a privet patio with a view. You will not be disappointed. The amenities are endless and included. Love the fact they had an onsite grocery store. It is located so close to off site groceries and restaurants. The rooms were spacious and well equipped. fresh towels everyday if desired. We would come back and recommend to other travelers.

Very nice stay. Great facilities at the hotel. Free Swimming, free internet, free wifi, free parking. Games room. Great for walks. There are a few steps to walk up, depending on which apartment you receive. The surrounding area quite hilly. Driving there can be a bit of a challenge because of the hill. There is a shuttle bus usually twice a day from the hotel that will bring you to Funchal.

A most enjoyable holiday.
Could not have been more enjoyable; all staff were extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful and also professional. The mini market had something of everything needed and the mini van driver was superb on very demanding roads. Although we had hired a car my wife was very happy to either stay around the hotel - there was much one could do to relax, in lovely weather - or take either the minivan to Funchal, or an organised coach trip. We will definitely plan to go back. N.B. strong recommendation to anyone planning to go to Madeira for the first time: rent a (small is good, can corner best) deisel car/van of at least 2000cc capacity for ease of driving on the very steep (occasionally seemed like 1 in 3, or 1 in 4.

Perfect location in the center for the southside of the island, therefore an ideal starting point for all of your dautrips around the island. You do need a car as the nearest town/supermarket is a 15 minutes drive on the twisty and hilly roads. We really liked the spacious appartment (MC2) and the stunning sight over the valley and sea. This was way better as expected on forehand. The location on the hill 600m above the sea has a very nice climate in August, as there is no airco and we didn't miss it neither. The pools, spa, tennis, minigolf are fun althought some maintenance has to be done. The restaurants are ok, although we didn't make very much use of them.

Super Anlage mit tollem Blick auf Meer und über die Insel. Apartment war sehr schön und Umfangreich eingerichtet. Anlage bietet viele Aktivitäten: Tennis, Minigolf, Tischtennis usw. Die Anfahrt mit einem kleinen leicht motorisierten PKW aus Ruchtung Funchal war jedesmal ein Abenteuer.

Insgesamt ein sehr guter Aufenthalt. Von der Ausstattung über die Sauberkeit und die Freundlichkeit des Personals war alles in Ordnung. Lediglich das Frühstück war für den Preis ein wenig dürftig geraten.
