Pros: Easy access to highway and city
Cons: Wait time in lobby. Waiting 10 minutes for someone to show up is never a good first impression
Good place. Nothing noteworthy or outstanding, but room was very nice/clean. Nice breakfast choices.

Quite and comfortable

Posted Jul 7, 2015
I enjoyed our stay at the hotel. But the complimentary social hour there wasn't any body there. We forgot one of the girls' dress in the closet of the room so I called the hotel three times but every time they told me they will check the room and they never called. It was a very expensive dress. It was a custom made traditional dress.

Stay at Clarion

Posted May 20, 2015
Pros: location
Cons: the staff and security.
The second night of our stay, someone opened and walked in to our room at 2:30 in the morning. When we asked him what is going on, he said they gave him the wrong KEY!! That didn't explain the wrong room? We called the front desk and he said the guy had a key, but said it wasn't working. They just gave him the key for whatever room he named without checking to verify his name or ID. The next morning, they gave us a different story that the room number was put in by mistake, but it still did not explain how could the guy walk in to our room with the right key?!!!! Also, the first night although we checked in very late, the front desk staff was very accommodating. But she was the only staff member who was courteous and professional. Any time we dealt with the front desk afterwards, they were abrupt, unprofessional, and rude. I will never sty there again.

Not perfect, but nice

Posted Mar 25, 2015 on Hotels
All was as expected. The room was clean, meat and comfortable. The breakfast area was roomy and well-kept. The food choices were nice with hot and cold selections. The juice machine was not working, but a bottle of OJ was there instead. The only flavor of yogurt was peach. Otherwise, it was good.

Basketball Tournament stay

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: Reception and breakfast, nice beds.
Location: 2 miles from Kohl Center, UW, and Capital
We stayed at the Clarion Suites for the Boys State Basketball tournament. The lady at the front desk was very nice to deal with and our check-in was quick. The hotel had a reception with free beer, wine, soda, cheese, crackers, etc. which is a great addition to the stay. The breakfast in the morning was one of the best I have had with the usual cereal, fruit, coffee, and juice with hard boiled and scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, waffles with fresh strawberries, muffins, and hot oatmeal along with my favorite, chocolate milk. Even though the hotel was busy with teams and families attending the basketball tournament there was plenty of food available and tables to eat at. The suite had a very comfortable queen size bed and a pull out couch, and was plenty big enough for our family of four. The hotel was about 2 miles from the Kohl Center and the Capital and was an easy drive or you could take the bus which you boarded across the road. The hotel has a pool which we didn't use but I didn't see a hot tub. There was a fitness center that looked OK but they had a sign that said they were remodeling the end of March. All in all we had a pleasant stay.

Wonderful hotel in Madison

Posted Mar 22, 2015 on Hotels
Wonderful people, especially the front desk. Really liked the ro concept which had it set up to be very livable. It would be good for an extended stay. It was quiet and comfortable. The heating/AC ran with a steady, subtle hum. Tired after a long drive we ordered pizza delivery and it was excellent. Breakfast was also nice with good coffee. It was clean everywhere--and I'm fussy.
