Modern - hip

Posted Jun 16, 2015
Pros: Cute - hip - location in regards to college
Cons: Consistency and a few tweaks with room functions
Location: University right across the street
Not a bad place to stay - just had issues with the air conditioner spewing out stinky mildewy air on night one. They fixed it the next day - then it spewed out weird fumes that smelled like pesticide. Turns out they had some bug problems in some of the AC units - so they debugged it and the fumes blew into my room. Had to prop door and open window - which was ok (although hot) and the window mechanism was broken, so I cranked it open and could not get it shut. The rooms were VERY cute and well equipped. Comfy bed, nice towels, nice (Aveda) amenities. Liked the coffee machine in the room. They forgot to replace the mugs and the bath mat on day 2 - so I had to call down and request. I liked being able to use a bike gratis - although I only discovered that by reading the room material - not because anyone at the front desk mentioned it. Be aware, that although you get a "free" 24 hour rental from the Hotel - the bike company requires that you check it in every 30 minutes at one of their stations. That compromised the "free" part.

Very interesting and appealing design

Posted Jun 10, 2015
I spent two nights at the Hotel RED while attending a conference at UW Madison. The hotel is nice, the staff is friendly and the rooms have a high level of comforting facilities. However, the hotel has a very special design that lives from combining luxurious modern interior with bare naked walls and floors. Even though I found this interesting it came with the cost of not feeling to cozy, a little bit cold and too rational for my mind. Still, I would spent time there again anytime.

Great Location. Excellent Service.

This is the second time I have stayed here. Great service. Great location. Very clean. Pet friendly, but no smells. Free Shuttle service is great, if not available they will set up a cab for you. And at certain times, they will cover the cost for you.

Fabulous looking boutique hotel.

Posted May 27, 2015
Pros: Loved looks & vibe of boutique hotel! Fabulous design.
Location: Lots of things to do in Madison. Great location..near campus & stadium, but near shopping & restaurants.
Hotel looks fabulous, but needs to concentrate on basics. Platform bed looks great, but mattress uncomfortable. Shower fancy, including overhead rain, wall jets & handheld, but mixer valve didn't work properly & water was scalding with no way to turn it down. Said free parking, but very few spaces...although there was street parking.

Very quiet and comfortable and close to Monroe St.

Posted May 12, 2015
Pros: Cleanliness, quiet, unique style.
Cons:
Location: Monroe Street is full of unique shops and of course the stadium is across the street.
This is the fourth or fifth time we've stayed here so we are familiar with the industrial type rooms with the comfy beds and furniture. Love the coffee machine and the kitchen facilities. It is close to relatives so makes a perfect place for us to stay.

Pros: Location. Kitchen
Cons: A non-sticky cooking pot would make our stay better.
It was a nice stay because it is close to my son's campus.
