Fantastic stay!

Great location..close to downtown! It is nice that hey have the shuttle that takes/picks you up from anywhere! No need for a taxi! Also, yummy breakfast! Comfortable room! It was nice to be able to choose what floor it was on. Very clean! The only thing is that the smoke detectors flash green while you are trying to sleep, but the staff made a huge effort to help us out with that. They covered the lights with tape, which really helped. They may want to change the location of hte detectors. Present for my mom for her birthday---stay there, go to the House on the Rock, and a performance at the Overture Center. I would definitely stay again!

Fun hotel to stay esp. close to walking around Sta

Posted Apr 8, 2014
Pros: The breakfast buffet was soooo good. So many choices. An oatmeal bar with many toppings and really good fresh fruit. Also, we had a quiet night...n
Cons: Clean your upholstery
Location: Located in downtown Madison. Paid for parking. Close to the university and the capital. We spent the next day walking around.
The one thing that I did not like was that we stayed in a King room with a roll-out bed - we had to take the cushions off right away. The fabric on the couch was not clean. It looked dirty. For $153 per night, I expect a clean room. The bed was comfortable and my son said the roll out was too. Every thing else was fine.

Glad I chose the Hyatt Place Madison

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: The staff was helpful, friendly; the breakfast, good; liked the 24-7 get-your-food-when-it's-ready instead of room service—less $, nice soup, salad.
Cons: I did miss the lotion that's usually provided along w shampoo, but not a big deal.
Location: I know Madison, and always enjoy visiting there. Nice place to walk, restaurants, museums.
I signed up for my conference late and no rooms were available at the conference hotel, so I looked for a nice hotel walking distance from there. The Hyatt was an easy distance during daylight and good weather, and provided a shuttle whenever I requested it. When my stay was over, I had requested a shuttle to my bus pickup point; it was in use elsewhere at the time I needed it, and the Hyatt paid for a taxi to take me there. I was very surprised--and very pleased.

Five days of comfort

I was in Madison for a week of classes. Hotel was close to school campus and the shuttle was a great feature. Room comfortable but avoid street side for the noisy early morning traffic. Staff was friendly and the morning buffet very nice.

Hidden gem near the Capitol.

Posted Mar 30, 2014
Pros: Accommodations were comfortable, location excellent, staff very helpful.
Cons: Nothing I can think of.
Location: I was at a conference at Monona Terrace, that's all I did.
The Hyatt Place is a great hotel about two blocks off the State Capitol. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. There's a pool (no whirlpool) and a gym. There is an exceptional free breakfast and other food and drink available 24/7 (although I doubt the alcohol is available all the time). The staff was more than helpful and pleasant.

Nice hotel in the heart of downtown.

Posted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: location and room size
Cons: beds weren't comfortable
Location: capital building and many restaurants within blocks of hotel
The lady at check in was very friendly and informative. The room was larger than expected, which would have been wonderful if we were staying more than just one night, but wasn't necessary for this trip. The staff were very helpful in recommending places to eat and directions as well as a complimentary shuttle if needed. Conveniently located right in the middle of downtown Madison. I'd stay here again if we come back to Madison.
