Romantic getaway

Posted Dec 16, 2014
Pros: Location was perfect and the bed was really comfortable
Cons: Can't think of a thing
Location: Did a lot of Christmas shopping and we were pretty centralized for that.
Awesome weekend stay! The room was clean and comfortable. Well worth the extra fee for the club level, enjoyed the breakfast! We will be back, I'm sure.

Comfortable hotel with convenient downtown access

Posted Dec 15, 2014
Pros: Location, quality, cleanliness, amenities, room/bedding comfort.
Very satisfying hotel accommodations throughout, including hotel staff, restaurant comfort and food quality, pool and hot tub area, and warmth of decor. Most of all, the room was clean and the attention to superior bedding (mattress, pillows, down comforter) was the true winner. After all, you only really rent a hotel room for temporary sleep arrangements. The hotel has direct access to the Alliant Energy Center (Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Exhibition Hall and New Holland Pavilions), with only a few-minute shuttle transport to the heart of downtown or the UW campus. The price is also quite economical, particularly during discounted-rate periods.

Great Stay!

Posted Dec 11, 2014
Pros: The staff, the restaurant/ bar, having Starbucks on site was nice.
Cons: shower head and comforter...very minor....see above. Really nothing to complain about.
Location: Went to work in the morning....came home at night...didn't have time to play. :-(
I got in early but my room wasn't ready yet so I went to have breakfast. The staff let me check in early. Nice rooms...plenty of space....comfortable. Had dinner at the bar/ restaurant each night. Good but limited menu. The food was good. Wednesday they had Managers reception in the lobby and Lisa Watts (GM) was serving wine. Talked with Lisa for a bit, very nice. I stayed on the 7th (club) floor. The appetizers were nice in the evening and the breakfast was nice in the mornings. The staff were very nice. The only two things that I could complain about, which are only pet peeves, would be that even though the water pressure is great in the room the shower head shot out the water like needles and the down comforter was very heavy. I would have liked a lighter blanket instead. I would stay here again for sure.

Cons: Fridge in room
Very convenient for visit to UW. Shuttle was helpful. Staff was pleasant. Pool area seemed dirty. Would like a fridge in room.

Hotel is great but out of the way

Posted Nov 3, 2014
Pros: Very comfortable bedding.
Cons: The hotel should offer cooked omelets with the buffet breakfast
Location: The hotel is about 10 minutes away from the University of Wisconsin
This hotel was a bit out of the way but worked out well since it was Freak Fest the night we stayed and many of the downtown streets were closed off. The buffet breakfast on Sunday did not look very appealing for the price and we ended up at a Denny's. The condition of the room were good as was the common areas.
