I stayed here twice this week when traveling to see family and friends. First time I stayed in a room with a whirlpool and the second time in a regular room. When I filled the tub, the water was brown. Sure from rust in the plumbing. So I didn’t use the tub. Waste of extra money. Second stay in a regular room, the ceiling looked like it was about to fall in the shower. Then there were two remotes for one tv. Not sure what one to use as neither one really worked. Then I found stuff on the floor the cleaner should have found. Good for them it’s the only Hotel in Columbus, WI.

We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience. We do clean whirlpool in room once a month, but because of slow season it is not being use, so to use it you have to empty the tub and refill it. We had tub overflow so ceiling in bathroom had some stain, we will take care of the ceiling in that bath room. Please contact us at gm.wi8800@stayboarders.com and we will help.

Nice and clean facility. The whirlpool water was very discolored. Maybe hard water? The only downside for the price.

The color of the floor of the whirlpool is different than pool that is why you see the water difference in pool and hot tub. We do empty out hot tub every Monday to maintain cleanliness. At 8:30 am. the warm food pan I assumed had rggs possibly a meat was empty. Breakfast goes til 9:30. Other than that it was fine.

There are no curtains on the windows, just the light filtering blinds, the TV has Dish, but you can only watch about 10 channels. The shower doesn’t drain properly, there was water up to my ankles the whole time I was in the shower. I don’t think we would ever stay here again.

Thank you so much for for your valuable feedback. We have install new roller shades in all our rooms each roller shade has two rollers one for light filtering and another for back out. There is two chains one for dark out shade and the other for sheer. We are sorry for the slow Darian we will advise our maintenance to routinely check on drains. We do have 40 channels including HBO. Once again than you so much for your feed back and hope you will give us second chance.

Staff was friendly, kind and accommodating. Breakfast was great, pool was nice, rooms were clean. Only complaint is all creamer for coffee was spoiled when I brought it to staff attention she directed me to get new ones under the cupboard, she showed me under the cupboard. I explained to her that creamer has a short shelf life and should be refrigerated, like milk…..not stored under the cupboard. Her response, “oh, I don’t know anything about creamer, I just work here.”

Very nice accommodation
I stay at many hotels and this ones one of the better ive been to. Everything worked the facility was in good shape with no holes or damage that i seen. I did find a few black hairs under my pillow. But rest of the bed looked fine. So could have been from house keeping

Breakfast was okay, coffee not warm. Beds were okay, not as comfortable as they could be. Woke up with backache. A bit pricey for the experience. But clean and functional.

Room was clean, beds were comfy, but hotels with mini-fridges in them really need to defrost them on a regular basis. None of the waters and ice pack i put in the fridge in the evening were any colder next morning. Bathroom sink and mirror had minimal lighting, could be better, probably more of a problem for the ladies than us guys. Otherwise a good value, and very short drive to Amtrak station.

I don’t ever share reviews of places , but I’ll make an exception this time . We got put in a room right next to the laundry area , usually not an issue - but it was musty and smelled so bad . We were told they were booked solid , so couldn’t switch rooms . Tv didn’t work, we had to have the desk girl come and unplug everything and finally got it to work. (Not her fault). Bed was fine , everything was okay in the room besides the smell was atrocious , and the musty feeling of being in a laundry room that’s damp , was hard to sleep . Breakfast was basically out at 830, and they serve until 930. I asked if we could get cups, since all the silverware and utensils were out - they did refill about 20 minutes later , so it didn’t help much - we were done eating. Very limited food choices . I don’t usually complain, and have stayed in worse places . If you don’t plan to eat breakfast , the room is okay . Make sure you don’t get the room next to the laundry room . Otherwise fair hotel, but we will never stay again.

We do have timing for guest laundry use it is only available from 9am to 9pm. Musty small is from the new AC unite so we will replace that unite. For the breakfast we will have our staff pay more attention. Once again we are extremely sorry for the inconvenience.

Cozy. Very clean. Room was very comfy. Perhaps, they can put in slightly quieter exhaust fans in washroom. Internet was great. Good opportunity to make slight improvements on breakfast to make it 5 star. I.e eggs everyday. Staff was very positive and eager to assist. Good restaurants nearby. Overall great value!!

It was once a Super 8, but for the most part it's in good repair. There are a few chain restaurants nearby and a small general store. The town is nice enough. At check in, there was an error in billing which the motel was slow to correct. In the end, Expedia refunded the amount they had charged to compensate for the mistaken bill at the motel. I've stayed here once before, and despite the billing error, I'd be willing to try them again. The place was clean and the bed comfortable.

Eggs were not great- tasteless. Sausage very good. Good selection at breakfast. Did not get to use pool. Property seemed old and needs to be updated. Beds were sooooo comfortable. Pillows were small- my son called them Leprechaun pillows. Over all an average experience.

Good stay for the price paid.
Everything went pretty well. The only thing I we dislike was that the toilet was not properly cleaned, when we lift the seat cover there was a lot of urine from previous hosts.

Worst stay we’ve ever had at Borders. First day in room didn’t get cleaned till almost 4 and then it was just pick up garbage I already bagged and put out, picked up one set of towels we used and gave a new set, we got toilet paper, Kleenex, garbage liners, plastic cups as not enough after one day? Second day turned on hair dryer and it sparked, popped and blue out all electrical in our room. After trying to communicate with two staff who did not speak English, one maid that did got the manager up who reset the fuse. He left the property and discovered something happened to the tv. Could get only the weather channel. Satellite, cable, internet all not working. Three front desk people were told several times during day and manager out of town. One said she would text him as only option was move to a different room on a different floor in the fifteenth minutes we had before attending a family event. Who wants to pack up everything and move to another room? All electric had come back on but nobody knew anything about the cable/satellite/tv. Unacceptable! Gal said she texted manager several times but no answer. We requested a bill adjustment but only he could authorize that. When leaving at 6 this morning asked again about contact with manager-no notes on the incident and no contact but he would be in at 8. Lot of good that would do us. We have always stayed at that motel multiple times in the past without ever having an issue. Makes us wonder about owner?

The only thing I would recommend is that they get higher quality ice bags and plastic cups. Both of mine broke and leaked. Also the ice bag was not replaced daily and i had to ask to get another.
