I wanted to be in a quiet, reasonable location near campus. Breakfast and evening snacks were a pleasant surprise. All in all, this is a nice place to stay.

Great location! Easy access to everything downtown

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Location
Cons: Update furniture
Location: Great location! Campus, Capitol, State Street restaurants and bars
Okay experience, we were visiting our kids in Madison. Hotel is older and does have a somewhat musty smell. Cheese/Sausage platter was a pleasant surprise as well as a nice breakfast. Didn't find the staff to be as friendly as other hotels in Madison. Small room but every comfortable King bed. I will stay again, price was very resonable.

Great location, but not a great stay.

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: Refresh of decor, employee engagement, and the location of our guest room.
Location: Great restaurants and bars all around, as well as the capital area.
First time at this hotel. The location is excellent, and you can walk to virtually everything. The rooms are dated and tired, and the staff is not the warmest or most welcoming I have ever experienced. We were situated right next to the stairwell door, which bangs when people go in and out of it. The breakfast in the morning is very basic, but appreciated. We checked into a room that had a dirty sock on the floor.

Thank you for your honest comments. While I'm glad you enjoyed our location, we obviously fell short on a few items. There's no excuse for items left behind in a room, and I will address this with our staff. As far as your impressions of our rooms, while most our guests appreciate the elegant European-style d├ęcor, you may be interested to know that will be undergoing a renovation of all guest rooms and other areas later this year. We pride ourselves in providing friendly and professional service, evident by the common theme of our reviews so it's disappointing that you did not experience our staff at their best. I hope we'll have a chance to host your future visits and hopefully renew your interest in the hotel once we have completed our renovations. Sincerely, Bill Wellman General Manager

Excellent choice for UW parent

Stayed here before. Read recent untrue web comments. The Campus Inn is very good. Campus Inn or Hilton near Capitol are places to stay. Eager to see new Edgewater, which was our favorite. Ignore other nitpicky reviews about Campus Inn. Do wish dogs were allowed, however.

Thank you so much for such nice comments. Your thoughts are very much appreciated and I've glad we've become one of your "go to" places in Madison. We know that the Edgewater will be an exciting new property and we're excited to welcome them back - we'll continue to do what we do best as a small, intimate hotel - providing an exceptional value and a very friendly, personalized experience which we hope will continue to earn your loyalty! Additionally, we will be undergoing an extensive renovation at year's end which will make our hotel an even more exciting place to stay! #And with that, we'll take your suggestion to be pet-friendly into consideration!# Thanks again. Sincerely, Bill Wellman General Manager
