Beautiful property but was under construction while we were there and got woken up early to banging every morning . Tough to handle with the jet leg. Otherwise it was fantastic. Amazing staff.

Overall pretty over priced - get an Airbnb over this. The high points: the staff was super friendly and helpful at all times, the hotel itself is beautifully restored and the location is great. Low points: the bed was not comfortable, the room was almost hard to walk in it was so small, our tub was broken and the 24-hour room service mentioned was technically available, but there were only 5ish things on the menu. We left and stayed at an Airbnb that was 3x the size, at an even better location, with a balcony a view, jacuzzi tub and same sized bed for less than half the price.

Old World Charm
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It had old world charm and yet was very modern, updated large rooms/with beautiful bathrooms. Air conditioning was exceptional for Europe though we were not in summer heat, it was still in the 80's! Staff was professional and efficient and greeted you each time you walked into the lobby. Only concern was that the breakfast was very expensive--it was good & bountiful--but one can only eat so much early in the day. Our last day, we had to leave the hotel for our flight early like 3am due to strike by security personnel at airport & so we did pay for the breakfast for that day but of course missed it though staff offered to pack us a box, we declined. But at 29 Eur each it would have been nice if they offered to reimburse us. Needless to say, we would not pay for the breakfast again esp. as there were so many charming cafes nearby for way less Euros !

I was traveling with my son and got an upgrade. After checking we met Rafa Nadal staying at the same hotel. what an experience. The room and hotel staff perfect!

Great stay and cannot say enough about Marta. She went way beyond the call for offering great resturants, places to see and things to do, looked up train times and prices, went over the top to accommodate us. Make sure you ask for Marta!!

Good hotel but a bitnon expensive side
A but expensive for the quality of the rooms and the other spg hotels. The staff memebers were amazing though and always ready to help. Area is great is you travelling for business or couples getaway. The lobby is very nice and a good cafe

Business strip. Location is great but rooms can do with some facelift. Outdated. Great tobgave a gym though and the reception staff were always on hand and Very Helpful! Especially during the taxi protests.

Only a 3 Star Hotel, but in a 5 Star area
This hotel was really disappointing. Got in around 10am, but room wasn't ready until after 3pm. I travel to Europe quite a bit and have never had an issue checking in at least a little early. Room itself was just okay, nothing special. The shower head was broken and half the water sprayed sideways onto the wall.

Very nice staff. Good sized room and bathroom. Worked well for family of 3. Breakfast was the only let down. Assumption by hotel is you have the continental buffet. Hot food like eggs and bacon is additional. However if you only have hot food they will still charge for the buffet even if you do not eat it. This happened to us and I complained. To be fair they removed it but it is completely illogical and they should change this policy. Also, breakfast is way overpriced. If you have buffet and hot food you are looking at €30!!

delightful surprise awaits you in Madrid!
The Retiro was recommended to me by a friend who also had a great experience, it is a renovated 20th century home of a really wealthy family, and much like the architecture in the immediate area, stays true to it's origin, with plenty of original charm, and all the modern necessities you need in 2017, we were upgraded to a jr. suite upon arrival and ended up in thee best room, top floor, over looking the Park (think NY's Central Park). It was NOT noisy, and we were there on a Saturday night! The staff was warm, friendly-all English speaking as well) and accommodating. 30+ Euro pp for breakfast SEEMED a little high, but we opted out into the morning instead, so it may very well have been worth every penny. The room certainly was. Love Madrid, and although I've stayed at the Ritz a couple of blocks away as well, this is now my Madrid hotel.

Gorgeous hotel next to the park
AC Palacio is a stunning hotel next to Retiro park. The hotel Itself is beautifully designed. We stayed in a superior room which was very spacious and very well cleaned each day.

Wonderful few days in January.A cultural holiday ....Art Galleries, Royal Palace, flamenco, City walks and lovely tapas.Service and help in the hotel was second to none.
