Convenient location-next to train station

Posted Dec 4, 2014
Pros: The location is convenient. Staff is very nice, helpful and ready to give you any advise about Madrid's attractions, transportation and much more.
Cons: The design of hotel rooms should be more convenient. There is no table for computer or cup of water,I have to use the bed.The room is very small for 2.
Location: Prada and 2 more Fine arts Museums are here in this area. There is a nice botanical Garden on the way to Prada.
This hotel is for people spending one or two nights - just nights. You can not relax after your busy day. The hotel is very closed to Atocha - 20 min walk. It is a walking distance to Subway also. The area is not quiet and we shut the windows. AC worked well. There is a small refrigerator full of snacks but you can find a spot for your snacks too. There is a big Supermarket and the Theater is across the street. There are many cafetieres around. Some of them are very good and they are open very early. We did not have a breakfast in hotel. It is 17 euro for 1 person. The room is for one person even the bed size is queen or king. You can not go over to another corner of the room if the 2-nd person sitting at the chair (the chair is on empty spot in this room). We lived on the 3-rd floor. if you need to write something or use Laptop forget it !!! Tiny table is here for the kettle, couple glasses and lamp.

Super location, cool hotel, excellent breakfast!

Pros: Location, location, location
We could not believe the location for price. Minutes by foot to museums -- Reina Sofia, Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza!! -- and the amazing Parque del Retiro. Close to Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, La Latina, CaixaForum, Atocha station, great tapas spots. The rooms are modern and comfy. One kind of surprising thing is that the bathroom walls are all frosted glass -- no solid wood doors. So this hotel is best for couples or people who are very, um, close. The way the wall-mounted faucet and free-standing sink are situated causes water to splash on the wall behind unless you're careful but no biggie; it all looks cool. The lights are operated by your key card; my one tiny nit is that if you have to get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and need lights, you'll have to illuminate the whole room, due to the glass doors. On the whole, a fab hotel; would definitely book again.

Its a 5 from me, good value for location

Posted Nov 20, 2014
Just 5-10 mins from main Atocha railway station and 15 into the city centre. OK it is in a relatively poor neighbourhood, but it certainly felt safe even after dark. The hotel is ultra modern, excellent friendly and helpful welcome. The room is modern minimalist. King size double, and sofa bed with dividing glass screen. Unusual separate shower glass encased, with high quality wooden slatted flooring. Wash basin very modern. Good shelving and open hanging space, free safe included. I had a front street facing room on 5th floor, some street noise but easily closed out with double glazing and internal wooden shutters. Whole room freshly decorated and spotless. Complementary fruit, water, and tea making, but not coffee. But 24*7 free fresh ground coffee in breakfast room. Breakfast seating may not be to everyone"s taste, as can only be described as communal with shared tables. Breakfast good quality cold meat, cheese and fresh bread, plus choice of juices, plus plain yogurt, & fruit. A very practical, reasonably priced (£83 per night) hotel in a capital city. No hesitation in recommending it to fellow travellers.

Amazing stay at the Artrip.

Posted Nov 14, 2014
Pros: Attention to service by the staff, cleanliness and comfort of the rooms and good location.
Cons: Our room (attic room) did not have a lot of closet storage, but this may have been die to the fact that it was one of the smaller rooms in the hotel.
Location: Lavapies neighborhood just south of the city center. Lots of bars and small restaurants nearby. Within 15 min of all the major museums.
My wife and I recently spent 4 nights at the Artrip in Madrid. The hotel is in a building from 1900 that was completely renovated about 2 years ago. The building has a nice combination of modern, minimalistic furnishings with old world character. The lobby doubles as an art gallery and library as well. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and modern. The staff - from the owner to the staff working the breakfast area - were very friendly and always willing to go the extra step to make sure we were taken care of. The hotel is located within a ~15 min walk to the major attractions (Prado museum, etc.) and just a couple of minutes from the Lavapies metro station. If I ever go back to Madrid, I will be sure to book here again.

I enjoyed my stay at the Artrip Hotel and will definitely be returning for another stay. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast every morning was well worth the costs and would recommend anyone staying here to choose the breakfast option.
