Perfect location. In the heart of Madrid!Posted Jul 21, 2015
Pros: Location! Location! Location!
Cons: Change the carpets and bed sheets to new ones.
Location: Great location! In the heart of the city very close to Plaza Mayor, Plaza Sol, etc. As soon as you walk outside there are plenty of stores to shop!
The location was very convenient. The hotel is old but we believe that it was part of its character keeping the original structure and amenities. Though the carpets, beds and sheets can use some upgrade as it does smell old. Overall, it is a good hotel for short-stay, reasonable for its great location.

Well located.Posted Jul 8, 2015
Pros: Location. Taking into account that the hotel is located right in downtown Madrid, the price is affordable.
I have been returning periodically to this hotel and the service, has always been reliable, the staff efficient, the rooms cleaned on time, and the prices affordable. I will return in the coming years.

NOT Quite up to standardPosted Jun 30, 2015
Pros: The dining room was quite lovely and well appointed.
Cons: The room interiors need updating and the air conditioning needs to be improved
Location: Life outside the hotel is vibrant and plenty of shopping is available as well as abundant eateries.
The Hotel Carlos V is extremely difficult to reach by car. It had no parking facilities. The nearest parking was two blocks from the hotel and very expensive. The room was small. While generally clean, some overall maintenance is needed. The showed its wear as well as the laundered towels. The Staff are pleasant, helpful, and courteous.

Central location, nice hotel and staffPosted Jun 1, 2015
Pros: Nice staff and lovely breakfast room/bar. Good service.
Location: Access to the main shops and bars which are on the doorstep. The metro (sol) is a few hundred yards away and allows you to travel around easily.
Stayed last year but decided to return again with grown up children. It's a comfortable hotel in a central location convenient for shops and bars. Staff are helpful but communication can be difficult at times. Not all rooms have a great views but they tend to be quieter. Ensuite facilities are good.

Bra hotell i centrala MadridPosted Apr 29, 2015 on Hotels

Good hotel very convenient for the city centre.Posted Mar 29, 2015
This was our first trip to Madrid. The hotel is very central: five minutes' walk from the Opera House, shops and numerous restaurants. The room was comfortable with a very modern bathroom. There is a bar area with a 1920s feel. Staff were very helpful. Initially, on arrival, I was disappointed to find no coffee-making facilities but when I discovered that a "coffee kit" was available, all was well.
