Great for layovers

Posted Aug 16, 2014
Stayed one night for a layover. They have a shuttle to a mall nearby--not the authentic spanish experience, but great for a quick bite. We ate barbecue baby back ribs, Asian buffet, Starbucks, and dunkin donuts. It's a nice hotel with really fast and thoroughly helpful staff. They were each amazing. For the price, however, I would recommend the two bedroom apartment style suites down the street at Compostella Suites.

Terrible stay

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Room was good. Bed was comfortable
Cons: Bathroom doors could roll all the way so there is at least a little privacy. Hotel staff ruined my stay
Location: Nothing to do nearby. Hotel is close to the airport but not that close. taxi is 20 euros to the airport
Definitely a bad experience. The hotel is close to the airport, and provide a shuttle, but only from 5 am, so it´s not good for early flights, which was my case. Taxi cost us 20 euros, only 10 euros less than anywhere close to the center of the city. My bad experience involves a taxi driver and the hotel reception lady. I took a cab to Plaza del Sol, stayed for a few hours and then another taxi back. The first driver wouldn't give me the credit card receipt for some reason, and I got off without my receipt. When I got back to the hotel, the reception lady told me the taxi driver had gone back to the hotel and said my credit card didn't work. It was weird because you know if that happens right in the moment. Anyhow, the reception lady told me I could give him cash or leave cash there so he could pick it up. Everything sounded weird, so I went online and saw that the transaction went through. She also tried to make a transaction and said the card was declined. I had pizza delivered and paid with the same card with no problem, so I went back to her and she said she had spoken with the taxi driver and it was a mistake, that the card DID go through... It all sounded fishy to me... The worst thing is that the reception lady made me feel like I was the one who was trying to steal and not make my payment, she rolled her eyes and made faces while all of this happened. I wonder what would have happened if I left the cash with her..

Excellent facility.

Awesome place to stay. Helpful staff. The rooms are high class, spacious and classy. Taxis are available all the time and shuttles connect you with the airport nicely.

Everything You Could Want

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: see above
Cons: The taxis are often driven by men with bad b/o or worse, cigarette smokers. This is a huge pain for us - my daughter has asthma.
Location: see above
A near-to-perfect experience for an airport hotel. The rooms are gorgeous - surprisingly modern and well appointed. The bathrooms are quite spectacular - aesthetically pleasing and highly functional. The overall mood says "vacation", not "airport hotel". The lobby houses the large breakfast room - in an open air atrium evocative of the old Hyatt style in SF. The breakfast buffet is excellent - with a tremendous variety of hot dishes, traditional Spanish meats and cheeses, cereals, yogurt, breads, pastries, omelets, churros and chocolate, and much, much more. Service is attentive throughout the hotel. The location is nothing to get excited about - there's a shopping center across a busy freeway so you either have to take a circuitous route to get there or a taxi for about 8-9 Euros. (Taxis are expensive!) The hotel has a nice spa - with a lovely (but not huge) pool with a retractable roof. Overall, this is a nifty spot for a quick turnaround - which was our purpose in booking. We made our booking on Expedia and got a heck of a rate for two adjacent rooms. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone needing a stay close to the Madrid Airport (by the way, the relatively new Terminal 4 is a work of art). Enjoy!

Early Flight to Middle East

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Very friendly staff. Well located hotel. Very clean and modern hotel
Cons: No I found it to be an excellent hotel.
Location: Although I didn't have time to venture out I heard the barman explaining to a family that there was a shopping mall within 15 minutes walk.
I needed to be at Madrid Airport at 06:00 am to catch a plane to The Middle East via London. So I searched for a suitable hotel near the airport and as I am a member of the Hilton loyalty program I chose their hotel. I was not disappointed. Check in was fast and friendly and I was delighted with my room. Very roomy, modern and comfortable. WiFi was free and was a good connection. I went for an aperitif at the lobby bar and the service and quality were excellent. This was followed by a very enjoyable meal in the restaurant served by a friendly team. A complimentary coffee was a nice touch. I slept well with no disturbances and checked out at 05:45 am. This was too early for breakfast but the hotel had coffee juice and croissants available. The hotel shuttle to the airport was free of charge and left promptly for the five minute drive to the Airport Terminal. An excellent hotel experience!

Great hotel for overnight stay in between flights

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: The proximity to the airport with the shuttle service.
Cons: The toilet.
I was only in Madrid for a night, for a long overnight layover between flights. While somewhat on the expensive side for this type of stay, the hotel was wonderful. The bathroom is beautiful!! The shuttle to the airport was perfect, and actually was the reason for me picking this hotel. It picked up right outside the terminal (there are signs for hotel buses...it picks up there approximately every 30 minutes and goes to all terminals). The buffet breakfast was nice with a good choice of both hot and cold foods, although it was very expensive. The only negative was the toilet ran all night and woke me up at 5am making a weird noise. If I was staying longer I would have asked them to fix it and I'm sure they would have. As I was only staying the one night I just let it go. The service staff was wonderful and very helpful with any questions we had regarding the shuttle and breakfast. I didn't use the fitness room or pool but we did check them out and they were very nice. Had some chairs to lounge in, even had a few kid toys for the pool.

Excellent modern hotel near airport

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: Location and access to the huge, confusing airport
Cons: More privacy in bathroom
The shuttle to and from the airport is very helpful. Rooms are great. Wouldn't mind a little more bathroom privacy, though. Glass walls are too transparent.

Very little privacy, glass walls and no place to put your things. Awkward set up. The bed is very hard.
