Very nice but...

Posted Sep 23, 2014
Location: The nearby shopping mall is great. But be prepared for a half hour walk to get there.
Fancy hotel. reasonable rate on first blush. Hilton has chosen the airline model of hidden costs. Reasonable room rate but 25 euros a person for in-room wifi. 26 euros a person for breakfast. And 14 euros for a martini at the bar, where wifi is "free." Most expensive drink I have ever had.

Overnight between flights

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Friendliness and helpfulness of everyone we encountered on staff. Really clean rooms that are well appointed.
Location: We didn't do anything but it was very convenient to the airport.
Great experience. We had dinner at the hotel and the food was wonderful. Our waitress was attentive without being too attentive and we loved the dinner.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff was fantastic. I do wish the pool had been bigger.

Wonderful experience

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: The location in relation to the airport and to the Metro station, the contemporary architecture and furnishings, the size and design of the room.
Cons: Restaurant service at lunch time was very slow, plus very expensive.
Location: Ten minutes away from the airport, ten minutes away from the Metro station. The hotel has a swimming pool and gymnasium.
Staying at this hotel during our brief stay in Madrid, was the best choice. The facilities are beautiful, modern, clean, the hotel is located ten minutes away from the airport and has free shuttle sevice, and the closest Metro station is a ten minute walk from the hotel. Eating at the hotel is quite expensive, but then, in which other hotel room can one relax sitting on an Eames chair?

Great for layovers

Stayed one night for a layover. They have a shuttle to a mall nearby--not the authentic spanish experience, but great for a quick bite. We ate barbecue baby back ribs, Asian buffet, Starbucks, and dunkin donuts. It's a nice hotel with really fast and thoroughly helpful staff. They were each amazing. For the price, however, I would recommend the two bedroom apartment style suites down the street at Compostella Suites.

Terrible stay

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Room was good. Bed was comfortable
Cons: Bathroom doors could roll all the way so there is at least a little privacy. Hotel staff ruined my stay
Location: Nothing to do nearby. Hotel is close to the airport but not that close. taxi is 20 euros to the airport
Definitely a bad experience. The hotel is close to the airport, and provide a shuttle, but only from 5 am, so it´s not good for early flights, which was my case. Taxi cost us 20 euros, only 10 euros less than anywhere close to the center of the city. My bad experience involves a taxi driver and the hotel reception lady. I took a cab to Plaza del Sol, stayed for a few hours and then another taxi back. The first driver wouldn't give me the credit card receipt for some reason, and I got off without my receipt. When I got back to the hotel, the reception lady told me the taxi driver had gone back to the hotel and said my credit card didn't work. It was weird because you know if that happens right in the moment. Anyhow, the reception lady told me I could give him cash or leave cash there so he could pick it up. Everything sounded weird, so I went online and saw that the transaction went through. She also tried to make a transaction and said the card was declined. I had pizza delivered and paid with the same card with no problem, so I went back to her and she said she had spoken with the taxi driver and it was a mistake, that the card DID go through... It all sounded fishy to me... The worst thing is that the reception lady made me feel like I was the one who was trying to steal and not make my payment, she rolled her eyes and made faces while all of this happened. I wonder what would have happened if I left the cash with her..

Awesome place to stay. Helpful staff. The rooms are high class, spacious and classy. Taxis are available all the time and shuttles connect you with the airport nicely.

Everything You Could Want

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: see above
Cons: The taxis are often driven by men with bad b/o or worse, cigarette smokers. This is a huge pain for us - my daughter has asthma.
Location: see above
A near-to-perfect experience for an airport hotel. The rooms are gorgeous - surprisingly modern and well appointed. The bathrooms are quite spectacular - aesthetically pleasing and highly functional. The overall mood says "vacation", not "airport hotel". The lobby houses the large breakfast room - in an open air atrium evocative of the old Hyatt style in SF. The breakfast buffet is excellent - with a tremendous variety of hot dishes, traditional Spanish meats and cheeses, cereals, yogurt, breads, pastries, omelets, churros and chocolate, and much, much more. Service is attentive throughout the hotel. The location is nothing to get excited about - there's a shopping center across a busy freeway so you either have to take a circuitous route to get there or a taxi for about 8-9 Euros. (Taxis are expensive!) The hotel has a nice spa - with a lovely (but not huge) pool with a retractable roof. Overall, this is a nifty spot for a quick turnaround - which was our purpose in booking. We made our booking on Expedia and got a heck of a rate for two adjacent rooms. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone needing a stay close to the Madrid Airport (by the way, the relatively new Terminal 4 is a work of art). Enjoy!

Early Flight to Middle East

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Very friendly staff. Well located hotel. Very clean and modern hotel
Cons: No I found it to be an excellent hotel.
Location: Although I didn't have time to venture out I heard the barman explaining to a family that there was a shopping mall within 15 minutes walk.
I needed to be at Madrid Airport at 06:00 am to catch a plane to The Middle East via London. So I searched for a suitable hotel near the airport and as I am a member of the Hilton loyalty program I chose their hotel. I was not disappointed. Check in was fast and friendly and I was delighted with my room. Very roomy, modern and comfortable. WiFi was free and was a good connection. I went for an aperitif at the lobby bar and the service and quality were excellent. This was followed by a very enjoyable meal in the restaurant served by a friendly team. A complimentary coffee was a nice touch. I slept well with no disturbances and checked out at 05:45 am. This was too early for breakfast but the hotel had coffee juice and croissants available. The hotel shuttle to the airport was free of charge and left promptly for the five minute drive to the Airport Terminal. An excellent hotel experience!
