Great location for Plaza Mayor

Posted Sep 14, 2014
Pros: Location location location & a good price!
Location: Lots of action in the Plaza and plenty of places to eat .Plaza San Miguel indoor market is well worth going to for a selection of foods & drinks .
The room was clean & the sheets & towels were equally clean &changed daily. The bedroom & bathroom were very tiny & the noise from the street at night can be annoying . However, you don't spend much time in your rooms.

Super location

Pros: It's location and casualness.
Cons: Possibly a hint as to what the hotel is across from so a taxi driver might find it more easily. There is no ground floor sign on the outside of the bu
The Macarena was not easy for our taxi driver to find, but once we got there everything was terrific. It is a casual place, the staff was helpful, it had everything we needed.

Great location in Madrid

Posted Jun 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
The location is unbeatable. You can walk to all the sites you want to see in Madrid as well as to lots of tapas bars. The rooms are small but very clean and open to a balcony. Lots of street noise but not if you close up the window and shutters. Staff is pleasant and always available. Lack of AirCon was not a problem in first week of June; the room stayed cool during the day and nights were cool with a good breeze. I would stay there again because the location is excellent and we were quite comfortable.

Perfect hotel to stay right by the Plaza Mayor--clean, convenient, friendly, and nicer bathroom than most reasonably priced European hotels. Can't beat the location. We would happily stay there again.

A great location!

Location is right of the Plaza Mayor. Relatively quick half mile walk from Plaza Vodafone Sol, a main subway stop. When you get to the Cava San Miguel, past the Mayor, then past the Mercat San Miguel, look up to the second or third floor across from the souvenir shop (past the the Museo de Jamon) and you'll see it. We missed it a few times because we were looking for a street-level sign and finally called. The desk clerk was nice enough to meet us out in the street to guide us in (we were the only ones in the street with backpacks). That said, we thought the staff was very friendly even though they were not fluent in English. It really helped us knowing a little Spanish. The rooms are old, but pretty clean. The noise outside at night depends upon where you are in the building. We stayed in 211 (2 double beds) during the weekend and the windows were a good buffer even though people were partying right outside. We then stayed in 201 (queen bed) and this was much quieter with the only window fronting a tiny courtyard within the building. 201 also had its own hallway which made it seem even more private. We highly recommend this room, especially for the off-season rate that we enjoyed.
