Great location, but.Posted Aug 24, 2013
Pros: The location...
Cons: The neatness of the bedroom, especially the bed.
Location: Plaza mayor, grand via very near.
The hostal sure has a great location. The toilets are clean and there are enough of them. But the woman who welcomed us was not nice, the bed cover was stained and there was hair on the sheets.

Great value for money city break basePosted Jun 18, 2013
Fantastic hotel for a short stay in Madrid. You can walk to some of the main sites in 5/10 minutes and the others are only a 20 minute stroll or a quick metro hop. Getting a free breakfast in a local cafe on the square by the metro was a nice touch. Luckily I'd brushed up on my Spanish as the staff didn't appear to speak any English but they were very helpful. Overall excellent value for money. Not sure what the other rooms are like but to be on the safe side I requested a quiet, newly renovated room and got exactly that - with a balcony. Will definitely stay here if I find myself in Madrid again.

Convenient location, all the necessitiesPosted Jun 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
We really enjoyed it and found the owner and staff very helpful. Had requested twin beds, but were given a second bed easily. Lift is small but works well, and you need to be prepared for breakfast at a very nice place about a block away. Would stay again gladly all things considered.

Great location and clean nice roomsPosted May 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hostel has an excellent location. All the sight seeing spots in old Madrid are within walking distance. There are also lots of eating options around. The rooms are clean and well-appointed. Bathroom/toilets are outside and slightly compact, but very clean. The lady who manages the place does not know English, but we managed very well without words!! Breakfast is included and is served in a nearby cafe.

Lovely Margherita, clean hostel, super thin walls!Posted May 14, 2013
Pros: Clean!! Toiletries provided
Cons: Cigarette smoke, thin walls, Keys which did not work
Location: Fantastic Location
I found the staff especially the owner to be friendly and very helpful although she did not speak any English and we communicated through Google Translate. I stayed in the old part of the hostel, which had very thin walls. As a result, I could hear the man in the room across the hall from me snore, other guest walking, opening doors etc. If you book, I would recommend only do so, if you are a heavy sleeper or if you can book in the new part of the hostel which seems nicer.

Nice hostel, very well located (but not so easy to find as the name doesn't appear so clearly at night# Very small room , very clean Staff is very nice but speaks only Spanish #no English at all) Breakfast included Ideal if you want to visit Madrid and don't want to use public transport as we can easily walk to many famous places How would you rate this hotel overall? 1 2 3 4ers

Very excellentPosted Apr 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
It is very clean and good location. We stayed there for 4 nights, and booked a room with shared bathroom. The shared bath room is very clean, and the number is enough to avoid conflict with others. The facilities there are quite posh. The location is in the high street of Madrid, but quite in the hotel. Overall, very good.

Amazing!Posted Mar 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
This was my first time in Europe and it was a great way to start off the trip! The staff there are super friendly and will give you all the information on the city. The place is clean, quiet, and has a great atmosphere. This was also the best shower I've had in Spain. A fantastic place!
