Good value for money

Posted Sep 12, 2014
Pros: Metro station just opposite. Living area. Helpful staff. Clean and comfortable room.
Cons: Bathroom ceiling paint peeling off slightly. Mini-fridge and coffee making facilities would be a bonus.
Location: Out of city centre, but across the road from Principe Pio metro station (zone A), big shopping centre and cinema. Decent area.
The hotel is not directly in the city centre, but it's very easily reachable via the metro as there is a station exactly opposite. The interior of the hotel is nice and modern. The living area above reception was very nice just to relax if you have some time to kill. The staff were ok, didn't have any issues with them. Having said that people in Madrid were generally quite grumpy so the staff looked like the happiest, friendliest people in the city by comparison. The room was comfortable and cleaned on a daily basis which was great. On our first night the fire alarm went off a couple of times because of a fault, but they were quick to fix it. I didn't mind, it was actually good to know that it worked and that it was loud enough to wake us if the worst was to happen! We didn't have the breakfast as at 9.5 euros it wasn't expensive but can get something for half the price in the city centre. My only comments would be that in the bathroom the paint was peeling off the ceiling from the humidity of the shower (could do with a lick of paint/better ventilation/dehumidifier). There is lots of space so if they could include a fridge and a kettle with some coffee that would be a great bonus. But for the price we paid the hotel room & facilities met our expectations. :)

Hotel is in great location. They have outside restaurant, mall, and all the metro station right outside. The breakfast buffet could have been better. All and all I would stay there anytime I am back in Spain.

4 nights in Madrid

Posted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: Clean, friendly and welcoming
Cons: If I had to say something I would say a bigger lift. With three of us and our luggage it was a bit of a squash
Location: Perfect location for exploring the city. Close to Temple de Debod, Palacio Real and the Cathedral
I chose this hotel as I wanted something away from the hustle of the centre but within easy reach. We had a family room for me, my mum and my son - 3 single beds which was perfect. You could easily have pushed two together if you had been a couple. Fresh towels and bedding every day. Lovely luxurious shower room. Very little English spoken by anyone other than reception but the lovely lady at breakfast really appreciated us making an effort to speak Spanish. This was the perfect location for exploring Madrid - right opposite Principe Pio station and the metro system was really easy to use and super speedy - taking the metro to the airport took less than an hour!

Very courteous staff ! I forgot my mobile in the car and the gentleman at the reception called up the car company, spoke to the cabbie and got my mobile back ! Everyone was very courteous and helpful, including the housekeeping staff ! The room has got everything you need and perfect value for money ! Also, the cafeteria is convenient and reasonable ! The salon and work area are nicely done ! Conveniently close to everything in Madrid ! You can walk to the main sightseeing places comfortably !

We turned up early as we had been on a night bus prior to our visit. We were allowed to check-in straight away, which was a big relief! Very helpful staff pleasant room, equipped with a modern bathroom.

clean and convenient

Pros: Everything. |Friendly staff.
Cons: can't think of anything. Swimming pool would have been the icing on the cake but there was no room for one.
Location: metro, bus station, shopping mall, restaurants and river walks. We got a 2 day pass on the Madrid City Tour Bus hop on and off and it was good value.
never having been to Madrid we were not sure about the location of this hotel but it was perfect . Opposite the metro and the bus station with large shopping mall. Lots of restaurants close by and lovely river walks. Large parks just around the corner. Not far from the cable car. Staff couldn't have been more helpful.and gave us lots of useful tips and directions. Buffet breakfast was better than we expected with scrambled eggs and bacon as well as cold meats and cheese. Room was lovely, large and clean with large double shower in the bathroom. Safe was free( unusual these days). You can hire bikes at the hotel and there were lots of lovely safe riverside cycle paths. Didn't feel ike being in the city.

Pros: Cleanliness and the area
Cons: Breakfast and Wi Fi
Location: Good location, a lot of restaurants and coffees near by.
Room was very small but clean and had most of the facilities. Breakfast is ok but elevators are slow and tiny.
