“Stylish hotel in central location”

This is a very stylish hotel in an excellent location and it was also excellent value. The free WiFi was one of the reasons we booked it (other hotels please take note - it does make a difference to a lot of people now) and the WiFi worked well. We could not fault the hotel at all and will definitely recommend to friends and family and would stay there again if/when we return to Madrid. We loved the central location - we walked everywhere and were also overwhelmed by the beauty of Madrid and the wealth of stunning architecture and art galleries.

“A great surprise”

Quite nice and new installations within an old building in the heart of Madrid. Very nice accomodation, excellent location and with a cool terrace bar for the summer nights

“Perfect for central Madrid”

This is a perfect Hotel both for its location and night life but at the same time is was peaceful inside with lovely cool rooms. I have stayed on the 4th and this time the 5th floor, the rooms were smart and quiet, both had gorgeous bathroom. I could not fault this place. It has a nice relaxing bar where you cab get a very large G&T!!

“Friendliness in a capital city”

....is not always easy to find but great staff, cosy library and relaxing bar at the Hotel letras makes it easy. Helpful staff, lovely breakfast and nice designer feel to room. Buy a scented candle to remind you of the atmosphere in the bar.

“Fantastic hotel in a great location”

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. It's in a great location and easily walkable to the Metro stations at Gran Via, Sevila or Banco de Espana. The street of Gran Via hosts numerous shops and the Palacio Real de Madrid, Plaza de Cibeles, Plaza Mayor, Puerta de Alcalá and Metropolis Building are all within walking distance and worth seeing. The hotel itself has been modernised with comfortable rooms that are well insulated to the busy streets outside. There is a bar on the hotel roof, but the view was poor, it's only really the roof tops of neighbouring buildings you see. That said, it's a nice, quite retreat for a drink at night. Staff were friendly, helpful and spoke good English. I really can't think of anything negative, I'll certainly return to Madrid and use this hotel.

“Nice hotel, excellent and very helpful staff (dining is a little overpriced)”

My sister and I book our whole trip to Spain on Expedia, and it went flawless. This hotel is nice, and feels ritzy. When we arrived, my Spanish was a little shaky, but the two females at the front desk were patient, and even spoke English with my non-Spanish speaking sister. If you've never been to a hotel in Spain (maybe even Europe), like my sister and I. The hotels are trying to save energy so when you get into the room, there's a box where you slide your key card into to turn on lights and water. Our room had a balcony, and it's hard to have a bad view from the hotel. We were on the backside of the hotel, and this minimized the noise significantly. The hotel is situated close to many attractions, and is on the Madrid Vision bus tour route, you can buy tickets at the front desk. I loved this hotel the most on our trip across Spain.

“near perfect hotel experience”

very discreet entrance - managed to walk past it several times! Un cluttered style but very comfortable room - lovely bed linen and choice of pillow types - great bathroom - we had a room at the back of the hotel and it was totally silent at night . Didn't eat in the restaurant so can't comment on the food. Very central so can walk every where and very near a metro station. Highly recommended!

“Friendly”

Arrived at the hotel around 23.00 and was welcomed by a very helpful and friendly front desk. The room was exceptional. While not all rooms can be on the corner of a building with surround balconies, mine was. It was clean, comfortable, stylishly decorated. But what made this hotel special was the staff. When I'm travelling, I don't spend much time in the room. I need and what professional assistance from the staff, and De Las Letras exceeded all expectations. Do yourself a favor and, if you can book this hotel, do it. Walk to the Prado or take the Metro, since both are easy . . . and be sure to enjoy the food and wine!

“Would definitely return/recommend”

Wonderful central location. We were a bit worried when we arrived b/c the entrance door didn't look very nice, but as soon as we went in, everything was great - front desk and room service, nice bar and restaurant. Spa with great deals on massages. Library with free internet access and a nice, relaxing atmosphere. Terrace with a beautiful view.
