good location for sights in all directions,Posted Mar 27, 2014
Pros: very freindly and helpful staff, the welcome drink was a nice touch. the bed was so comfy along with quality bedding and the cleaning was 1st class.
Location: if you like shopping and eating out this comes first then the sightseeing. Retiro park is a must on a nice day picnic in the park,
madrid seemed a large city when we arrived but after a day or so we found our way quite easily on foot as you can see more this way as most attractions are close together with the Bernabau stadium being probably the furthest out of town but well worth the trip

Very good location, only the breakfast could benefit from a few changes to complete the overall very good picture.

Convenient and CleanPosted Mar 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel delivered on most of my expectation. Firstly, the hotel is very conveniently located. There is a subway station right across the hotel, given how elaborate the Madrid metro system, it made everything extremely accessible. Secondly, the staff was extremely friendly. They switched to English as soon as they realized we don't speak any Spanish. They readily answered any questions that we had about the neighbourhood and any locations that we wanted to visit. The hotels room were extremely clean, they came and cleaned the room on a daily basis and replenished any supplies that we needed. The one thing I was unhappy about was the room they gave me had no sunlight, the one window that the room had was facing interior of the hotel which made the room very dark no possibility of fresh air or sunlight. Besides that overall a great experience, If I ever visit Madrid again I would definitely make Gran Versalles my first choice for a stay.

Nice hotelPosted Mar 12, 2014
Pros: The location and breakfast .
Cons: Noisy doors and letting you know that the restaurant was not always open in the evening.
Location: Very good and everything from sight seeing to shopping very good
Fantastic hotel a bit noisy at night with people slamming doors but apart from that ok. A bit disappointing could not use the restaurant in the evening it was closed had to use the snack bar everything cooked in microwave ok for a one off . Did not use again wish they had let us know that the restaurant was closed we always like to try them at the hotel where we stay.

central, near to metro, comfortable stayPosted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: its proximity to the metro, the friendliness of the staff and the comfort of the room
Cons: kettle in bedroom to make drinks
The room was a good size with large bed, good shower etc although would have liked a kettle in room. The staff were friendly, we could keep our luggage there on the day we left so we could tour Madrid before catching the plane. Breakfasts were good and the hotel was a good place to stay and reasonably priced-we would recommend it.

Average and not recommendedPosted Feb 8, 2014 on Hotels.com
I stayed at the Gran Versalles for one night in Spain for business. The hotel service is extremely poor, with rude staff who seemed more interested in their own conversations. The room was poor - nothing more than normal. The 'King' size bed was in fact two doubles put together. The air conditioning system was louder than a diesel engine and there was consistent noise from other rooms. The best thing about the room was the bathroom which seemed newly rebuilt and quite good. Overall, I expected more from a 4* which was more a 3*

Great LocationPosted Jan 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
No decent bar in the hotel and closed weekends and holidays and when we did buy a drink when it was open, it is the only place where we were not offered 'nibbles' when we bought a drink. You could not ask for a better location near enough to the town but far enough away to be quiet. We had a very enjoyable stay especially seeing the Parade of the Kings on Jan 5th.

Gran Versalles Hotel Madrid 23-29 DecemberPosted Dec 30, 2013
Pros: Location. Personal.
Cons: Power sockets near the bed.
Location: 20 minutes to the center. 2 minutes to Alonzo Martines metro station
Room is small but clean. It really misses power socket around the bed for ipad or tablet. Location is perfect. There is a metro station in about 2 minutes of walking and supermarket in about two minutes of walking. About 20 minutes of walking to the city center...

We stayed here for 6 nights over Thanksgiving week. We were very pleased with this hotel especially because I felt the rate was extremely reasonable. The desk staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was ready and clean and the bathroom was quite spacious. The public areas are clean and well-kept with lots of nice seating. Our rated included free WiFi which went down for brief moments a couple of times while we were there, but not a big problem. We did not pay the additional charge for breakfast but not because of anything negative, we just enjoyed going to different places to eat. The hotel is very conveniently located near the Metro which we used daily. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel - we had a lovely stay.
