I stayed for two nights

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: Helpful staff
I am from England and wanted to meet up with an American couple who are friends of mine. They were on a project in Spain for a couple of weeks, shooting a documentary. I caught up with them at the tail end of their travels. Needed somewhere to stay and we all opted for the Palacio.

Great hotel, great location. In the middle of everything but so quiet. Just unbelievable for the location you would think it would be louder but no. Great breakfast place turn left turn left and turn left again about half way down great place with fantastic customer service and great croissants and coffee.

A charming hotel

Posted Jul 12, 2014
Pros: The ambiance.
Location: Right in the old town, which wasn't all that big so you are close to everything in that precinct.
I really enjoyed my 3 day stay. The staff were friendly and pleasant. The hotel - or the original building - was grand. Heavy wood, 30's decoration still remains in a modernised interior and facade. There is a wonderful Agatha Christie style lift (as well as a modern one), and the hotel is in the "old" city within easy walking to parks shops bars restaurants the metro and so on. Very happy to recommend it.

Elegant hotel located close to major Madrid sites

Posted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: Its architecture and design, as well as its location.
Cons: nothing to be improved.
Location: located near the Gran Via, Palacio Real, and other bustling Plaza's. Very close to the Opera metro/train station.
Staff was great, the hotel was elegant. There is an old fashion elevator in this hotel that still operates. Staff helped out with all our questions. The Plaza the Hotel is located at is very close to the Royal Palace, as well as other Plaza's. There are so many cute streets to walk through where this Hotel is located. I did not book this hotel with breakfast included so I cannot comment on that.

Nice hotel

Posted May 31, 2014
Pros: Immaculately clean and within walking distance of most tourist attractions. Lots of places to eat nearby.
Cons: Staff. Not very welcoming. No info available for tourist in reception. Thank goodness for the Tourist Info Centre
Location: Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. 5 mins walk from shopping precincts. Easily used as a central base for sightseeing.
Stayed 3 nights. Hotel was conveniently placed for sightseeing.

Good Location

Posted May 9, 2014
Pros: Location location location
Cons: Fix the air conditioning so you had a choice of hot or cold.
Stayed two nights on the 1st floor. The room was very nice, clean and well appointed, although like most older buildings the lighting was not brilliant. The room was beside a lane way and was very noisy until all hours IF you wanted the window open, if closed it was incredibly quiet. We stayed in mid May, the rooms had air conditioning bit it was still on winter temps, which made for a very warm room, the window open would have worked, but then you had noise. Watch out for the washing/ironing charges, pretty steep. Excellent location, only a few blocks to the royal Palace, could walk everywhere really, but the hop on bus also only a few blocks. Reasonable shopping too.
