BEST CHOICE!Posted Nov 25, 2013
I ACTUALLY BOOKED THIS HOTEL SIGHT UNSEEN FOR MY DAUGHTER AND MOTHER ON A TRIP TO MADRID. I HAD ACTUALLY NARROWED THE SEARCH DOWN TO THREE HOTELS, BUT BASED ON ALL OF THE WONDERFUL REVIEWS, DECIDED ON THIS ONE. MY DAUGHTER LOVED THIS HOTEL AND WAS SO HAPPY THAT I CHOSE IT....CANNOT BEAT LOCATION, STAFF AND AMBIANCE. BEST CHOICE I EVER MADE.

Nice European style hotel in great location.Posted Nov 24, 2013
Pros: LOCATION! We could access by foot all of the things we wanted and the metro was also nearby. Service staff English was good enough.
Cons: Reduced breakfast cost.
Location: Excellent--Palace, Plaza Mayor, Sol within easy walk. We also got to the Prado and rail station (comfortable day trip to Toledo) on foot.
Within our short stay we wanted to be near Madrid tourist sites with great access to cafes/restaurants. The hotel fit perfectly. Knowing we would not be in the room that much, we weren't concerned about size and comfort. However, the room was very clean with enough space and decent beds.

Nice, classy hotel in the centerPosted Nov 4, 2013
Location: Plaza Mayor.
I stayed a short overnight there. I have no complains: I got an apartment, not a room, good view, nice room, exceptionally well equiped. Vry central. reasonable price.

Posh HotelPosted Oct 24, 2013
Pros: It is a very classy hotel. Small lobby with adjacent bar and cafe. All staff spoke English.
Cons: Staff could be a little more personable.
Location: Great location! Within a few blocks is Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Palacio Real and plenty of restaurants. Tourist info is at Plaza Mayor.
Wife and I were welcomed by the staff. Our reservation had been confirmed and our room was ready. Nice furnishings. We asked for additional pillows and these were promptly delivered. All in all a good experience.

Comfortable central hotelPosted Oct 13, 2013
Pros: Particularly liked the breakfasts, wide choice of food & perhaps the best coffee we've had when travelling (very important to start the day right!).
Cons: Bathroom is cramped, difficult to get out of the bath as toilet & bidet so close. Could be a problem for elderly or disabled guests.
Location: Location great, very near Sol & Plaza Mayor, with other major sights within walking distance. Plenty of shops & restaurants close by.
Comfortable room with small balcony facing square (double glazing ensured no noise). Very central for sightseeing, also close to Sol underground which is on many lines. Staff helpful and friendly. Hotel has an old fashioned Spanish feel about it which gives it character, unlike bland chain hotels which could be anywhere in the world.

Convenient to all the major sites in the old townPosted Oct 3, 2013
Pros: Convenient to tourist sites
Cons: Hotel restaurant food's price versus quality ratio
Location: No more than a 15 minute walk to all sites in the old town except for the three major museums, which are a 30 minute walk away
Great room for the price. Comfortable, efficiently air-conditioned with a modern bathroom. Avoid the hotel's restaurant, and choose one of the many decent restaurants not more than a ten minute walk away. Value rating of A-

Great location!Posted Oct 3, 2013
5 minutes walk to the Royal Palace and Gran Via! I minute to Metro and 15 minute walk to Prado. Close to all the outdoor restaurants and the important plazas. Included breakfast ((added cost on Expedia) is outstanding: fruit of all kind, deli meats and cheeses, pastries of all kind, cereal, and eggs made to order. Room was small (I had a single) but had everything I needed. Bathroom was very modern. No restaurant, but a café (limited menu) that serves outdoors (very pleasant) weather permitting.
