November 2014 stayPosted Nov 22, 2014
Location: Being in the heart of the old city all the tourist shops and sights were within walking distance. The Mercador is a must for a visit and a few tapas.
We stayed here for 2 nights in Mid November 2014. It is a grand old hotel which has been extensively remodelled. Location is fantastic, staff were very helpful, breakfast varied and delicious and room was spacious and well appointed. We had a corner room on the second floor and we loved it. The only improvement could be a kettle in the room but the kitchen staff willingly and promptly brought jugs of hot water and mugs to the room free of charge on request. Towels were thick and luxurious.

Good for around $85US per night.Posted Nov 21, 2014
the hotel is in a good location, close to nightlife food and activities, room and common areas show signs of wear, its a 3.5STAR hotel, its okay to spend the night but nothing fancy.

Central, yet quietPosted Nov 15, 2014
Cons: Slippers in the room
Location: Everything is very close- from main metro stops to anywhere, to restaurants (try Botin:oldest in the world), Main Street, main square, palace, etc.
All about the location: on the back of the Main Street and 5min from the main square, yet on a quiet little square itself- the hotel could not be better placed. Rooms are spacious and good value, albeit nothing luxurious, and the staff are friendly. I'd stay there every time.

great central locationPosted Oct 16, 2014
Pros: the balcony overlooking the restaurants in the street below
Cons: smaller chairs that could be taken onto the balcony
Location: loads to do in Valencia, the market's great and the hotel is surrounded by bars
really central for town and station, nice staff helped with tourist queries and a couple of niggles about the room . Of course the location means its noisy , but only till about midnight - you just have to join in!

Nice hotel with a central locationPosted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: Its central location, classic décor and comfortable bed
Cons: It is hard to get in and out of the bath tub.
Location: It is close to many restaurants, supermarket and most tourist attractions.
It is a centrally located hotel very close to the S. Miguel Market, Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol and Gran Via. A little bit further away is the Palacio Real, the Prado Museum and the beautiful garden (Parque del Buen Retiro). However, the hotel is in that part of the city where the roads are in all directions so it took us a while to orientate ourselves. The breakfast costs 15 euros per person but there are cheaper restaurants just around the corner. There is also a supermarket minutes away.

Dodgy at nightPosted Sep 21, 2014
The hotel is nice, but not quite four star. The room was small, simple and clean. Breakfast was very good. Unfortunately, the hotel is remote from most of the things I wanted to see and there were several homeless people sleeping in the square right out in front when I got up in the morning. I'd be reluctant to stay there again, particularly as a woman traveling alone.

Excellently located hotel in central MadridPosted Sep 13, 2014
This is our second stay in this hotel this year - will definitely stay again. The hotel is centrally located with easy access to most major landmarks within 5-10 minutes walking distance. The best thing about the hotel is that it is located in a quiet square where you are close to everything, but do not have hordes of people passing your doorstep. The hotel is located in a former embassy building with nice quiet rooms. The breakfasts are nice and sufficiently varied, the food is of high quality, also there is a selection of sparkling and semi-sparkling wines included in the breakfast buffet.

Great stayPosted Sep 8, 2014
Lovely hotel with staff who are helpful and attentive. I had emailed them prior to our stay to ask if our 4 room reservation could be close to each other - they responded within 24 hours to say they would do their best, and on arrival our request had been fulfilled. The room was clean and comfortable, bedding was changed during our 4 night stay and the complimentary toiletries were constantly replenished. We ate breakfast twice at the hotel - this was buffet style with a wide range of meats /cheese/pastries /fruit/yogurt etc and a cooked breakfast cooked to order . The hotel is situated between gran via and sol in a small quiet square and is close to Plaza Mayor and the Royal Palace. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to family and friends.

Decent hotel in a central locationPosted Sep 1, 2014
This is a pretty good hotel in a good central location. 2 mins walk from Gran Via. Had we been staying longer than one night I might have thought the room was small but it did the job for what we needed. Friendly staff.
