Excellent hotel in the heart of Madrid

Posted Jul 23, 2015
This hotel is at the heart of the city of Madrid but just out the way of the traffic and the noise. It's what I chose to call a hidden gem. Excellent facilities and staff. Fantastic restaurant. The fact that I am already looking to book again for next year should tell you all you need to know. I have no problem recommending this fantastic hotel to any traveller looking to stay in central Madrid. Oh and it's fantastic value for money too 😉

Centrally Located to Tourist Related Activities

Posted Jul 9, 2015
Pros: The hotel staff speaks English and are very accommodating. I had an early shuttle planned due to an early flight and would be leaving before the break
Location: There are numerous tourist related activities within walking distance. In addition, there is a "Hop on/Hop off bus that takes you to numerous museums.
This was my second visit to the Intur Palacio San Martin and I was very pleased. My room was clean, well stocked with towels, and other items. Everything worked as it should. I would recommend this to any of my friends who were visiting Madrid.

Olde worlde charm; space with modern convenience

Posted Jul 8, 2015
Pros: The antique elevator that still works.
Cons: It was lovely and I wouldn't change a thing.
Location: The hotel was literally next door to Monasterio de las Descalzas Reales which was top of my list of places to visit.
Loved this hotel! There was natural light in the bathroom of our spacious corner room facing onto the convent and the square. Curtains were heavy and gave a blacked out room for sleep. It was 4 minutes from our room to El Cortes Ingles department store. The famous chocolate churro restaurant, a Churro San Gines was about 8 minutes away but there was another good churro place within 4 minutes. There were excellent book shops close by. Well served by 2 metro lines.

Nice reasonable hotel close to many things.

Posted Jun 18, 2015
Pros: It was close to most things we wanted to see. Employees very accommodating and helpful. Loved the old elevator and sitting area.
Cons: The carpet in our room was worn. It would have been nice to have a coffee maker in the room for tea/coffee.
Location: Close to Prado and park. Churros at San Gines. ElCorteIngles mall -9th floor for gourmet tapas/desserts..get there early to get inside seating/view.
Good experience...........we were able to walk to most everything we wanted to see; had some good tapas and churros. Personel was very helpful and accommodating.
