Excellent location!Posted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: Bed was very comfortable and room is very clean with little to no street noise.
Cons: An older hotel with aged decor but that's what gives it character...set proper expectations.
Location: Close to 2 main plazas, shopping on the Gran Via, multiple Metro stations provides access to at least 2 different Metro lines.
Centrally located in Madrid city center away from the noisy Gran Via strip, close to Metro, various restaurants, and Plaza Mayor.

Good locationPosted Apr 15, 2014
Very nice hotel, a little dated and the rooms suffer from street noise as it is in a quite busy area, but close to everything, very nice staff and I would stay there again when in Madrid. Plenty of bars, restaurants and shops nearby.

The rooms are very different!Posted Apr 6, 2014
Pros: I can recomment it for a short stay.
The hotel is in a good location. When I checked in and entered my room, I was shocked. The room was very small and dark and did not have a window. Instead it had a small hole of 20 cm hight and about 50-70 width. I could not imagine staying there. When I came back and explained in the reception that the rooms looks very different of what I have booked through Internet, they were very polite and replaced the room. The new one was of a great difference. Bigger, with high ceiling and a huge window. I do not have any compains and I am really very thankful to the staff of the hotel. All are smiling and very friendly.

Pros: Convenient, clean
Cons: Nothing,Maybe update the decor a little bit
Location: It was very central and near to most of the sights
I stayed for 2 nights , whilst visiting my daughter. It was very clean and comfortable. It was my Birthday whilst I was there and when I returned on the Saturday, there was a bottle of sparkling wine and nibbles!!! this was very much appreciated!

Great StayPosted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: The service was great, the decor and facilities were just right - enough of a luxury feeling and great value for money.
Cons: Tea making facilities to save us getting up and dressed for an early morning cuppa.
Location: Whatever you want to do is close at hand.
Great hotel - we weren't sure what or where we had booked, however, the hotel was very comfortable, the staff were friendly and the location could not be better. We took the metro from the airport to the Sol station (about half an hour with a couple of changes). The hotel was easily found - its right in the middle of the shopping area (but was really quiet) and only 15 to 20 minutes away from the main galleries (even managed to catch a Real Madrid game - no more expensive than a top game in the UK). Madrid was surprisingly cheap and the people and service was very friendly. Would really recommend a weekened away there to anyone.

hotel very close to the main shopsPosted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: staff pleasant, where it was located, standard of the hotel very high
Cons: nothing negative to say
From the time of arrival staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and adequate for two people, bathroom was a standard size. Location was ideal, walking distance to restaurants and main shops.

Excellent locationPosted Mar 30, 2014
Pros: Staff friendly and helpful. The bathroom in our room needed updating but had a good shower and was spotlessly clean as was the rest of the hotel.
Cons: Didn't take breakfast in hotel as thought 16 euro's each was expensive. Plenty of cafes nearby that serve a good breakfast with excellent coffee.
Location: We took metro from airport (5 euro's each). You need to get on line 8, then line 10 and then line 1. Get off at Sol take the exit for Calle de Carmen
Excellent location and just around the corner from Gran Via. We walked everywhere as everything was within walking distance from hotel. When you need to rest your weary legs try the drinking chocolate with choritos!! Tapas are excellent value for money and we tried a paella which was yummy. Plaza Mayor is a large square where you can sit and people watch (restaurants on one side seemed to be more expensive than the other side?!).

Great location and comfortable.Posted Mar 20, 2014
Pros: The comfort and the location.
Cons: Cooler rooms.
Location: Location is excellent, probably one of the best locations. Near the metro station and many restaurants/shops.
The hotel is located in a great location, in the center of Madrid, near the metro station and where there are many restaurants and shops. The staff were very friendly and approachable. Rooms were spacious, tidy and were cleaned every day. The beds were very comfortable and the washroom facilities were excellent. The only drawback was that the room was slightly hot, however I would definitely recommend this hotel.
