Nice and centric hotel but the room was too smallPosted Sep 19, 2014
Pros: It's very centric, a great location. It's close to major city attractions
Location: Great location
I stayed in that hotel last year they assigned us (we were a party of 3) a bigger and more comfortable room. This year the room for three, 3 single beds was too small.

Small room. Great location.Posted Jul 28, 2014
My partner and I stayed here and had a good experience. The room was small. But the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet, even though it was right in the heart of Madrid. The hotel also had a great shower with good water pressure, something that I didn't think was that important until I stayed at another hotel later on in my trip where the shower was dismal. Note: when we stayed there the hotel was in the process of major renovations, so, some of the halls and public areas were messy. However, we stayed in one of the recently revamped rooms and this place has a ton of potential once renovations are completed. Also: location is perfect. Right in the heart of everything fun.

Clean hotel close to city centrePosted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: Location, location, location. Right next to the puerto del sol - so in the middle of the shops and close to the many tourist spots.
Cons: No coffee maker in room.
Location: Loads to do nearby - you could walk to virtually all sights - the Bernabau and Vincente Caulderon were maybe a bit far.
The hotel staff were very helpful and polite, most spoke good English - opted not to have breakfast as the location was so good.

Hotel, central MadridPosted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: Location, walking distance to all the central city.
Cons: Wifi in the room
Location: The whole of the central city is nearby and also an underground station 100ms away.
Simple hotel mid Madrid, excellent location at the Puerta del Sol. The rooms are small but adequate to sleep in and then get out and explore Madrid

Great HotelPosted May 25, 2014 on Hotels.com
The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was very helpful. The hotel’s location is exceptional, close to the train and metro as well as bus stops. There is a great pastry shop just through the front doors of the hotel eat there for breakfast vs buying breakfast at the hotel. The hotel’s cost for breakfast is steep and you can get much better food at the pastry shop very cheaply. All the major sights are in walking distance or a short metro ride away. Great hotel for the price and I highly recommend it.

Right at the Plaza del Sol; Perfect!!Posted May 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
Everything was perfect. Room, service, location, cleanliness--delightful! Only one of the counter persons was a grouch; the rest were great. This is the hotel to stay in Madrid. Major metros at the front door. Great plaza. It will again be my choice the next time I come to Madrid. Norm

Good value hotel in an excellent location.Posted Apr 24, 2014
Pros: Location - high quality good value hotel in a central location. A much higher standard than you would get for the same price in any other city.
Cons: Use more accurate photos of the balacony you are likely to get. I wouldn't have been disappointed if I hadn't had expections of a larger balcony.
Location: Amazing location. Subway steps away in middle of Plaza Sol. Steps from Plaza Mayor. Excellent bakery across the street & Museo de Jamon in next street
We stayed in room 608 which had a good sized balcony. I was initially disappointed on arrival as we paid for a superior room with a terrace and I had expected a terrace like the one in the photographs with a full length lounger and instead received a smaller balcony with two wooden chairs. Once I got over that though I really enjoyed our balcony. The room itself was good sized and comfortable. The en-suite was a good size and had bathrobes which is unusual for a 3* hotel. The hotel was in an excellent location. Step out of the subway and straight into the hotel. It was extremely close to the Plaza Mayor and there was a fabulous bakery across the road and we would highly recommend the Museo de Jamon in the next street for breakfast €6.50 for both of us! We didn't try the food in the hotel and we weren't bothered by noise at all. Good wifi coverage too and pleasant check in.

Right in the middle of it all!Posted Apr 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
I loved staying at Hotel Moderno. The staff was great and the hotel is in a perfect location and super close to the metro station. The room was basic and our view was of an elevator shaft, but when you're smack dab in the middle of Madrid, who spends much time in their room? I would absolutely stay here again.

In the centre!Posted Mar 30, 2014
Pros: Close to centre and good value for money overall.
Cons: Refurbish the bedroom!
Location: Anything Madrid offers is on your doorstep.
Hotel situated right in the centre of Madrid a few steps from (Vodaphone) Sol Metro. The hotel lounge area has recently been refurbished and is excellent. Buffet breakfast adequate although you have to pay for your eggs! My room compared to a stay last year was shabby and tight on space. Servicing of room of high standard. Wifi is free so that was good!
