Loved MadridPosted Nov 8, 2013
The location of the hotel was perfect for our first trip to Madrid. Next time planning on more than three days, a fabulous city!

Opera HotelPosted Nov 7, 2013
Pros: Location, location, location
Cons: Food from Room Service. Given the location it's not the ideal place for light sleepers, but the noise was certainly bearable.
Location: This is the perfect location for tourist sites, shops, bars and restaurants
hotel really good in terms of location, ideally situated for bars, restaurants, Royal Palace, Opera and other tourist sites. The only downside was the Room Service - the quality of food was not that good. However, there are so many great restaurants/ take-aways and supermarkets within short distance this should not be a problem.

It's good one.Posted Sep 5, 2013
The hotel is very nice and close to major attractions and Metro station. It is very convenient to go anywhere in the city. The staffs are very nice and helpful. They provide some information about the city where we shold avoid to go for lunch and dinner. It is very nice to stay. We will recommend to our friends.

My Perfect Madrid HotelPosted Aug 31, 2013
Pros: Decor, terrace views, location, wifi, restaurant/cafe, value, tranquility, staff
Cons: TV channels a bit boring for a Brit although you shouldn't really be watching much TV when there is so much else to do!
Location: Apart from the obvious tourist attractions, do take a look at the Plaza d'España buildings mentioned - love or hate, they are landmarks.
This hotel transcends its formal star ratings especially if, like me, you have one of the top-floor terrace & jacuzzi rooms. The terrace view was great, as I'm particularly fond of the Edificio España and even have a soft spot for the Torre de Madrid. Wonderful sunsets viewed from the terrace. There is a decent amount of space, especially when you include the terrace & jacuzzi. The jacuzzi I thought would be a bit of a gimmick having only experienced them in Vegas. However, it was remarkably soothing to the feet after a long day walking in the late-August heat (like Vegas - dry therefore bearable). The rooms lack a few upmarket features but nothing serious, and decor is modern in a likable bright way. Top-notch wifi. The staff are friendly & proficient, very clear about everything. The Café Ópera doesn't look especially opulent, but the short well-chosen and well-executed menu is excellent. One more than one occasion staff nonchalantly poured a 92 Parker Points Rioja as the house red! Very sound value too. The location is superb, a stroll from the Gran Via, but very tranquil and some lovely streets to wander in the vicinity. The Royal Palace is an even shorter stroll away, as is the Opera metro station for easy access to the Prado and other major museums. No difficulty finding superb restaurants nearby, but make sure to take at least two or three meals in the Café Ópera is my advice. Given the modest premium for the best rooms, this will be my first choice in Madrid.

One of the best we've stayed inPosted Aug 28, 2013
Pros: Everything from location to staff.
Cons: Only WIFI for one night when their system became overloaded. But they dealt with the overloading as quickly as possible, and helped out .
Location: Again Mercado San Miguel - one of best indoor markets to eat at, probably in world. Convenience to Metro to get to all major sights.
What a surprise. Our room was on the top floor as requested, with a real 2 person Jacuzzi adjacent to the spacious bathroom, glass enclosed, and connecting to a balcony with 2 full lounge charis. Miruna (in Reception) was a saint, as my husband lost his blackberry, which someone found, and she helped us try to get it back. Their recommendations on where to eat were superb. She was always patient with our questions. She recommended Botin , which turns out to beTHE place for wood fired roast suckling pig and roast lamb. We were able to stuff ourselves from the Mercado San Miguel which was a 2 minute walk from the hotel where you can get anything you want from Oysters to Riserva glasses of Sherry to tapas to incredible pastries. Metro equally convenient. We took it from Train Station to arrive - 15 minutes trip - and to go back to continue our stay in Spain. Highly recommend!

Super ConvenientPosted Aug 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
This Hotel is very adequate. Clean, friendly and helpful staff, and the location was excellent for our needs. The Metro station is right there and the neighborhood has many great restaurants and bars. A large shopping area is only blocks away. We had three people and that made an already small room smaller, but overall for the price we did very well.

was supposed to stay 3 nightsPosted Aug 23, 2013
last week checked in rooms were horrible, pictures online don't even look near to what the reality is, no sound proof at all, could hear everything that was going on next door and in the hallway. in 1 hour checked out, lost all my money that i paid for 3 nights and found different hotel, rate was about the same but no comparison.

Great location!Posted Jul 11, 2013
Pros: It's location
Cons: The Internet connection.
The hotel had a great location. The front desk was very helpful. The big problem was that the Internet did not work with my iPad and it worked intermittently only with my son's laptop. We tried for them to fix the problem but were not able to.
