Great place to stay

Posted Apr 5, 2014
Pros: To much to write.
Cons: Pizza in the bar.
Location: Great location. 2 minute walk to metro and from there easy to get around. fantastic metro.
Fantastic hotel with fantastic staff. an amazing place to stay. a surprice on every floor. very short walk to the metro. from here you can get round the city with great ease. will be back to stay here very soon it was that good. only thing that did disappoint was the pizza ordered from the bar on the night we arrived, not good. pizza place behind hotel would have been better choice had i known it was there.

Complete hotel

Posted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: Cosy steam room top floor with a simple roof pool. Elegant. Clean rooms.
Cons: Honestly can't think of anything!
Location: Location; Not many restaurants, shops, touristy features. Next to bus and train station. Top Madrid activities; Retiro park, prado museum, Bernebeu
The hotel meets great standards. Simply modern with eye catching designs on each floor but they don't do this to cover up other areas less desirable. The staff are warm welcoming helpful maintaining a great professional and personal balance. Could not be happier. Location is by the metro and 5-10 mins out of Madrids central hustle and bustle and thus IMO ideal. If you want to fall into and out of bed from the city centre this one isn't for you. Clean kind and would certainly go again. Great moment; We stayed on a floor and accepted a room with a large shower a sink suite. When we realised they had no tub we contemplated asking for a different room but thought we wouldn't bother. After one night my partner thought we should ask. Despite more of a whim case rather than problem the staff sorted us out with a new room instantly transferring our gear. Got a huge tub on the Japanese designed floor. Nil fuss.

Great Modern Hotel

Posted Mar 25, 2014
Pros: Restaurant, room service, and front desk where all great with costumer service and answer our questions.
Cons: I would have loved if the internet service was a little bit faster. Most of the time we had to wait for it to load.
My hotel experience was great!!. The hotel was modern enough to fit my style. It was very close to one of the metro stations in Madrid, Spain making getting around Madrid easy and uncomplicated for the tourist that knows and likes the metro experience. Their was never any need for waiting since room service was awesome and quick, the restaurant in the hotel add wonderful staff and great food not to mention to die for Desserts!! I would recommend this hotel to any one that likes contemporary modern experience in an old City Life .

Great stylish hotel

Posted Mar 25, 2014
Pros: what not to like really,
Cons: Swimming pool changing rooms required Tea making facilities in room,
Location: Easy access to Old Town and most of Madrid via the nearby metro. The bull ring at Ventas is a must.
Great stylish hotel with choice of rooms from various designers. Close to Old Madrid and Metro. Good friendly staff. No changing facilities for the swimming pool and no tea making facilities in the room let the hotel down otherwise a great hotel with great rooms. would definitely stay at the Hotel Silken Puerta America when next visiting Madrid.

Not a 5 star experience..

Posted Mar 23, 2014
Pros: Convenient location between airport and city centre
Cons: Most things to be honest
Architect designed rooms turns out to mean style over substance. Stayed on 6th floor.. Who ever designed the rooms has never actually used them. Bathroom was beautiful to look at but impractical to actually use. Room itself felt sterile, no atmosphere or soul Location is ok, 15 min metro to centre, 20 min bus to airport But the immediate location isn't the most attractive.. Really thought we were entering social housing Staff were helpful and efficient, and viewing choice of rooms on iPod prior to selection is a nice touch... But they show you the suites, not the rooms. What looks good as a suite probably isn't the same as a room Overall nice enough.. 4 star at a push, but won't stay again and wouldn't recommend it to friends

Very upbeat hotel with great room experiences!!:

Great stay. Lovely neighborhood behind the hotel with lots of good restaurants and shops. Easy access to metro. Breakfast buffet expensive at over 20 Euros per person. Also wi-fi system not user friendly. Shuttle to and from airport excellent- you must book to be picked up. It is free. When checking in be aware each floor is themed and is furnished accordingly. Check your room or ask for a tour before you decide. Front rooms face street, and have a great view. Back rooms are quieter however ask for 7th floor or higher.

Magnificent hotel, not business traveller friendly

Posted Mar 9, 2014
Cons: Need I mention it again?
This Silken Hotel has the wort electronics communication system I have ever encountered, even in much lower quality hotels in very out of the way places. I have talked to the concierge and the guest services manager and they are aware of the difficulties. But the decision to booth out their very poor supplier is not in their hands. It is unfortunate that the corporate entity at Silken Hotels is not very receptive to the major problem I reported, because the Puerto América is a beautiful and surprising hotel both in its architecture and the design of each floor. The staff is courteous and are very patient with the clients who multiply electronic communications support calls. I would highly recommend that hotel if it weren't for that problem.
