Property is easy to find. The area around the hotel has an abundance of places to eat that are within walking distance.

Avoid, terrible experience
This hotel has a major plumbing problem. Brown water in the sink, shower, leaking ceiling in the hallway. The room smelled like mold, untisanitary. If you have a choice, stay elsewhere. When i complained at the front desk, they couldn't care less, ignorant people. I dont know why they even have hotels like this one in their website. Waste of money.

Real Spain
We chose this hotel because we had a flight out at 11am and it was on the bus route to the airport. The area is working-class Spain and we enjoyed meeting the locals and talking politics. We were upgraded to a suite but on the way to the third floor we were stuck in the elevator. The staff responded immediately. We took the stairs from then on.

Decent Place to Stay
It's nothing luxurious, but it suited my purposes for my unplanned, one night stay in Madrid. The rooms are pretty simple, but the staff is really nice and helpful. I don't know any Spanish, but the staff spoke enough English to answer all my questions.

Train station is right behind the hotel. Fifteen minutes from the airport means being able to hear all incoming flights. Door to the bathroom was falling apart. Bed came with only a sheet. The TV was a tiny one hanging up in the corner of the room. But I only needed a room for the night before dlying out again, so it didn't matter for me. If you're looking for a relaxing place to stay, this is NOT it. If you just need a room for the night, go for it.

run down hotel at least 20 minutes from airort
They do not have airport shuttle as listed on Expedia. No air conditioning and room was small and hot. Clerk was unfriendly.

Not good.
Only booked as nothing alse near the airport was available. Definetly not a 4 star. Run down, cold with no heating on in October because it was still summer weather 9C outside. Vastly over priced and understaffed.Only one waitress on during the evening meal despite the hotel being fully booked Had to leave the michellin guide book restaurant for a meal in burger king. We never had a chance to eat as we couldent get served. If the food was as inspiring and the rest of the hotel then we were lucky. The check in clerk was excellent but again the only person who check you in or out. Small rooms ,unreliably wifi ,filthy bar sofas. This is one hotel to certainly avoid.

Good because it is close to the train station
This was a relatively nice hotel, all though, not outstanding. What makes it so nice is that if you are planning to take the train to another city in Spain, this is the hotel for you. We took the train from Madrid to Seville and thought that we were still going to have to take a taxi to the train station the next morning since we had a big piece of luggage with us and didn't want to be walking the streets of Madrid with it. However, it is only a small block away from the hotel to the station and not a problem to haul the luggage up the street from the hotel...probably a 5 minute walk. Besides, there are a lot of travelers doing the same thing so you are not in the minority. Great tapas bars around the station and the hotel. The room, all though clean, is cold (in a design way), and not very inviting. It is updated but not a room you want to stay in for long periods of time. There is a nice T.V. and a lot of space to store clothes but you do not want to spend hours in this room. Better to walk the streets of Madrid and take in the sights.

very disappointing
I blame Expedia for recommending the hotel as an airport hotel. it is about 20 minutes away and the only way to get there is via a 30 Euro cab ride. we arrived about 10PM and at that time the neighborhood did not seem appealing either. Overall a very disappointing experience.

Not the best for tourists.
Torrejon de Ardos is not one of the most salubrious of areas. It's a business and dormitory area so don't book a hotel here expecting "pleasant Madrid". Madrid is a 30 minute train ride away. My room in the Hotel Torre Hogar had curtains that could not be opened and peering through had a great view of the rail track and constant trains rumbling past. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast good and the staff were friendly and helpful.

There was an issue with my credit card. As I was only expecting to travel through Madrid and thought the hotel had been prepaid I was in a tough situation.he staff worked hard to help me relax and personally covered the difference between the cash I had on hand and the bill.

WARNING!!! DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!!
We searched for a hotel near the airport with an airport shuttle and a breakfast buffet. We found this hotel and booked it because it advertised both amenities with the price of our room. There were other options that did NOT include breakfast and they were cheaper options. After we booked the room, we were offered breakfast for an additional $11.00 per person. We said that a buffet breakfast was supposed to come with the room and were told that we could have a continental breakfast but that the hotel did not offer a buffet breakfast. We complained to Expedia that this was false advertising on the part of the hotel,then, because our Expedia receipt even said "free wifi and free breakfast buffet included". Expedia suggested to the hotel that they update their website info and remove "breakfast buffet" from their ad. We asked to cancel our reservation with the hotel but the hotel said they have a "no cancellation policy" so if we cancelled, we would still have to pay for the room. They did not even take into consideration that the reason we wanted to cancel was because they had falsely advertised a breakfast buffet when they did not even have one to offer! BECAUSE OF THEIR FALSE ADVERTISING AND THEIR INFLEXIBILITY, WE SUGGEST YOU DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. WHO KNOWS WHAT ELSE THEY ADVERTISED ON THEIR WEBSITE THAT IS DIFFERENT FROM REALITY????

Hotel didn't have shuttle service nor was it close to the airport as Expedia suggested. We asked for wake up call and didn't get one. Also, were misinfomed about bus service.....so we end up paying a lot on taxi.

Main issue was that free shuttle to airport was advertised, but there was no shuttle either way. I was told the driver might show up or may not depending on chores!!! COuld not take the chance to miss my flight. ALso, for a 4 star hotel, the room was very very small, no space to even get your clothes from the suitecase. The room was very clean as well as the bathroom! Staff were friendly, though not showing any sense of urgency when asked about the shuttle. Also wanted to charge extra for it (22 euros)

the hotel advertises airport pickup, but they do not. They wouldn't come to the airport to get us, and the next day we made arrangements to get a ride to the airport. However, when we showed up in the morning, they said the shuttle wasn't available. We were able to find a bus and get to the airport just in time. This place is a rip-off.

We booked a room because we only had one night stop over in Spain - the description says it is close to the airport but it's actually almost as far as Madrid City so we might as well have gone into town. The hotel is ok for the price, the staff very helpful and friendly but the location is pretty bad - you end up in a small suburban town without anything of interest around except a run-down shopping mall, a petrol station and a few bad cafes... It's an ok choice if you just want to stay in the room but if you plan to go out book somewhere in Madrid.

The hotel was good, but our room was small, and the hotel was a wee bit older. I think it is good for the value. The staff were very helpful and maybe 1 huge blessing was FREE internet. I would recommend it. The neighborhood was also good.

Best kept secret! Great place!
I loved my stay at the Torre Hogar. The only thing I totally disliked at first was the distance from the hotel to central madrid. However once you get the hang of taking the train to atocha and then from there taking the metro, you'll find it's a breeze getting around. In fact its nice travelling into the big city where everyone and all the tourist are, but once back at the hotel things are much more quiet, there's a nice shopping mall next door, and plenty of places to get a good bite to eat. One of Madrid's best kept secrets. Will definitely come back!

A two star hotel in a working class nieghborhood
The Good: Next door to a small mall and two sidewalk cafe's and a 5 min walk to the train station. The rooms do have a refridgerator and the snacks inside are actually reasonably priced. The Bad: NO SHUTTLE OR BREAKFAST BUFFET ON WEEKENDS, room you get is much smaller then the one in the picture and the TV in our room was a 16 inch LCD. The views are either of a recycling center or a mall wall. The commuter train tracks are directly behind. Our room had numerous cigeratte burns troughout. When leaving the front desk offered to call a Taxi for the airport, I had to mention I was told earlier that the shuttle was available weekdays before she got a driver for the hotel van. (I learned no weekend shuttle after arriving at the airport on a Saturday) Summary: If you want a small working class hotel with limited services situated in a comfortable working class Spanish nieborhood, and you do not mind being a 30-40 minute train ride from Madrid. If the hotel being a bit dated and in need of some renovation work is okay with you then for the price it will fill the bill. If you are expecting a 4 star hotel room with 4 star service this is not the place.

The Hotel is a bit further from the central part of Madrid than I had expected. From "touring," it is a half-hour on the Metro to reach it, and then a five minute walk from the Metro. However the service was excellent, the staff cordial, and I experienced no problems during my stay. The mini-bar, although not used by me, provided a refrigerator, which was used by me and appreciated.

The hotel isn't too bad. It is 45min (by public transportation) away from Madrid downtown. There is no shuttle from the airport. The neighborhood isn't the best...

Mi experiencia fue desalentadora en todo los sentidos y el Por qué: No hay relación real entre la información que proporcionan a los clientes en la página web de hotel.com no es la misma cuando llegas al counter del hotel . Todo lo arregla. Con disponibilidad, el parqueo de los coches hay que pagarlo; pero te enterarás cuando llegas alli, reservamos habitación con cama King no fumador y me dieron una doble cama y habitación de fumador. La empleada se porto miserablemente hasta senti un poco de desprecio racial su nombre María estoy muy decepcionado teniendo disponible espacios de aparcamiento me hicieron aparcar el coche en un parqueo que me costó € 28.00 cuatro estrellas no las merece.
