Great location

We loved our stay I Madrid. We were close to the Metro, stores and nightlife. The room itself was fine, damp basement apartment , the toilet ran and there is no on site help. But we would go back there in a minute we don't spend much time in a room. If you are looking for nice this is not your place but the price, small kitchen and location were perfect for us.

OK for an inexpensive room

We chose this place due to its relative closeness to Atocha Station. What we didn't expect was a dark groundfloor room in an actual apartment building. We were told that we could check in at 2PM, but we had to wait until 3:30 for the 'attendent' to get us into our room - even the housekeeper couldn't beleive that we would have to wait this long. The room was 'ok' for cleanliness, but we had to stop the attendent before he left as there was no toilet tissue. Nor was there any bottled water as advertised - I will not stay here again when I return to Madrid.

The pictures on the internet are of some other apartment - not the one I was put in. Bars on window facing car parked in street less than a metre from the window. Steel undercoated door, no more natural light than reaches the bottom of the Mindinao trench. '24 hour front desk' is five metro stops away. No-one on site. Not at all as represented.

Great location - good for groups

The area around the hotel was amazing - we didn't have to get on the tube once! Less than 5 minutes from Atocha station and the Reina Sofia Gallery, 30 seconds from a street full of lovely cafes, bars and restaurants, all with tables outside and lovely friendly locals. In about 10 minutes you can walk to the Parque el Retiro and a further 10 will get you into OLd Madrid. The apartment is very clean but very basic. Powerful shower which is good. One of the double bedrooms is windowless and gets very hot and stuffy. There were 5 of us and we used it as a base quite happily. WOuld definitely use it aGAIN for a weekend break, but more than a few days would be too much I think.
