Okay, but annoyingPosted Jul 24, 2013
Pros: Great location
Cons: Cleanliness, wifi, help
Location: Near plaza mayor and San Miguel market, plaza de sol, opera, palacio
So this is a nice location, but there were stains on things, unclean, kitchen doesn't have things to cook and stove was too small. Wifi didnt work. Staff nice but not helpful. Would look around, not worth the money.

H2 Plaza MajorPosted Sep 10, 2011 on Hotels.com
We were three single adults. The room was much smaller than we thought and the third bed was uncomfortable. The location was excellent due to it's proximity to all the things we wanted to do and the public transportation but this place is hard to find. Recommend arriving before dark and then asking for Hotel Mairu. It really is not a hotel but a floor in an apartment building. The street below is loud but the sound is muffled by excellent window insultation. You have to keep them closed at night for the smoke and noise. The internet connection can not be used in the room only at the desk down the hall. That said the staff was very helpful and it would be good for one or two younger people.

A good place to crash while visiting MadridPosted Aug 18, 2011 on Hotels.com
Our family of three stayed at Apartamentos H2 Plaza Mayor, not to be confused with the Plaza Mayor Hotel, at a different address. Very small room but the mini kitchen has saved us a bundle in restaurant costs. Very good location for walking to several major attractions in Madrid. Room service was a bit below average, but not really bad. Front desk personnel was helpful, but communication in English was difficult. Room was very quiet due to double windows, despite being above a busy restaurant. Overall, an acceptable place to crash at night if you go for a visit in Madrid, and you are not looking for high comfort and excellent service.

We were three persons living in the room and there was only one key. One night when one of us were sick we had to lock here in (when the door was locked, you couldn't open it from inside without a key) and she couldn't come out.

Hard to find but rooms are nicePosted Apr 2, 2011
We had trouble finding this hotel because it is located on the second floor of a building, and the sign wasn't very visible from the street. The appliances and decor were all new and modern, and it was pretty spacious. The location was amazing. It was about a five minute walk to Plaza del Sol and about the same to the Royal Palace. Great bars and restuarants were all around, it really felt like it was the in the center of everything. There wasn't daily maid service, which was a downside.
