Good location

Comfortable hotel that was within walking distance to many sites and services. The staff was friendly and helpful. The downside was that my room was next to the elevator plus I heard a lot of street noise even though it was on the 10th floor.

Best stay in Madrid!

I took my girlfriend here to this wonderful city to pop the question and she said yes! We got a taxi outside the airport and it took us straight to our hotel it took about 25mins and cost 30 euros. when we arrived at the hotel we had a private check in as we were staying in the grand premium room which gives u access to (the level) it's a private floor were everything is free! access to the computers, snacks and drinks are provided such as teas,Coffee, alcohol like beers, spirits even wine and champagne! There is also food snacks which is great if you fancy a drink and a bite to eat before you head out! The staff were very helpful an spoke perfect English! The room was fantastic! We had a walk in shower, and a jacuzzi which over looked the city what a view it was! The bed was comfortable and had everything you would need, safe, mini bar, coffee machine, big tv, CD player! U name it the room had it. We had free acess to the spa were there was a swimming pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi even a massage if you wanted one. Our booking also included the free breakfast which had a massive selection to choose from you will be left scratching your head wondering we're to start! The hotel is a short walk away from the streets were all the bars and shops are, even the location of the tour bus is a couple minutes walk away were you can get a pass an go see all the city like Real Madrid stadium, zoo, theme park, cable car and the kings palace! We will definitely be back! A

Nice hotel, close to old Madrid

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: Friendly personnel, very helpful
Cons: First night I was given a room next to the elavators, which were noisy all night. Impossible to sleep! Had to ask to be changed rooms.
Good, except for the problem below. But, overall, I would go again.

Clean and updated hotel caters to business and airlines. Not a lot of tourists. Was not the closest hotel to sights but within walking distance.

We really enjoyed staying at the Melia Madrid Princesa. The location was conveniently near the metro station. The room was nice and comfortable, the decoration was trendy and I really liked the king-size bed and the night stands that changed colors. :-)

Nice hotel, good location

Beautiful hotel, off a main street and surrounded by lots of stores (walking distance to El Corte Ingles). The superior room (with a view) are the same as the regular ones. We stayed in both kinds of rooms and didn't find it worth to pay the extra dollars - the "view" is not that different. The staff at the reception were not that helpful when we tried to extend our stay by 2 days. We asked if they could honor the rate we had before (booked online) and they seemed a little haughty and uncooperative. We also asked them about the Elite Expedia hotel upgrade and nobody seemed to know what that meant. The rooms are small but well-appointed and the bathrooms are beautiful. The bar downstairs has an intimate atmosphere and served us an excellent late night dinner, but their charges are ridiculously high - this was the first place where we had to pay separately for a gin and tonic - they charged €12.50 for the gin and another €4.50 for a small bottle of tonic water, bringing the total cost of one Gin & Tonic to a fantastic €17. We had drinks in many other bars and restaurants and it never exceeded €12.50 and they never charged the ingredients separately. We wanted to see a bar Menu but they didn't have it.
