Great location, very helpful staff

The hotel is ideally situated for the Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza and Reina Sofia museums, with bars, restaurants and the rest of central Madrid within easy walking distance. The styling of the hotel was a bit old-fashioned for my taste, but the rooms were clean - and did have tea/ coffee making facilities as well as a daily complementary bottle of water - useful as I didn't have breakfast in the hotel.. As suggested elsewhere, it probably is wise to pay the small daily cost to upgrade to a room with a view - I didn't and the room was rather dull, facing into a narrow well of the building. As I was out most of the day, this was only a minor inconvenience, although it meant you did wake up each morning to little natural light in the room. Staff were very helpful and professional. I'd happily recommend this hotel to friends with the above minor provisos.

Central stay

Posted Oct 25, 2014
Pros: Central position.
Cons: The bathroom design.
Location: Within 15 minutes of all the main sights of the city. The tourist bus stops right outside.
The hotel was very central being right opposite the Prado and with many restaurants etc nearby. Our room was comfortable but the lay-out of the bathroom was not good. A door-stop right by the loo was surely designed for painful toe stubs and one could only turn the shower on by stretching across the shower head so ensuring wet arms with cold water. Otherwise a good place to stay.

Good location for Prado and Atocha Train Station.

Posted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: Pleasant hotel directly across the Paseo from Prado. Also convenient to Atocha.
Cons: The room was sold as a superior one and was very comfortable but slightly on the small side. A bit more room would be good.
Location: All central Madrid attractions within reasonable walking distance. Great bars and restaurants up the back streets. A Real Madrid experience.
Stayed on Madrid overnight whilst travelling from Logrono to Malaga. It's a good hotel but slightly pricey considering other's offering better deals in the neighbourhood. I now know the names and locations of the other hotels and would opt for the best offer in any future stays.

One of the best hotels in Madrid

Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: Everything!!!
Cons: The price for the breakfast...a bit high!
Location: Just the perfect location in Madrid
The location of the hotel couldn't be better!!. We had the most wonderful time in Madrid mainly due to the location of the hotel: We walked everywhere for no more than 15 minutes: Plaza del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Palacio Real, Museums, Parque del Retiro, El Rastro, Mercado San Miguel...we didn't use public transport at all!!! The staff was extremelly helpful, there wasn't a request they didn't sort out inmediately. Very efficient, fast and professional. The room was very comfortable, the bed impecable as well as the bathroom, the facilities in the room were just right: coffee machine!! and speakers in the bathroom!

Nice location, but smelled of sewage all the time. Room much smaller than expected. No view of anything. Will not stay here again.

Nice location

The hotel is located in a very nice area. The staff are polite on face value and rude if challenged. The rooms are well cleaned but dark. The irons are scarce and in some cases need replacement. Overall there is plenty of room for improvement

Based near all the great sights, right by the Neptune Fountain and Prado. Superb transport links right outside the hotel. Restaurants and Tapas bars are good. Hotel very clean and staff exceptional service. Highly recommend
