Good location, excellent value

Posted May 28, 2014
Pros: Good restaurant. I had lunch twice, buffet, excellent food, good value. Fantastic location - quiet street, but near to everything
Cons: Rooms could use upgrade, but good for this category hotel
Location: Short walk to metro, dining, sights. Easy to get to old section of Madrid, but on a quiet street.
I stayed for 6 nights. Great rate through expedia for a double room with no breakfast. Many cheap breakfast places within walking distance. Overall excellent experience. Rooms were basic but clean had wifi, TV, minibar.

NH zurbano - Madrid

Posted May 21, 2014
Overall I slept well and had a pleasant stay. The staff was friendly and nice. It was less luxurious than stays at other NH hotels, but comfortable enough. On the downside, there was a 4 am fire drill and the internet didn't work at all in my room. Also you couldn't raise the volume on the tv past "15" which was too low to hear it but at least you are not bothered by the TVs in other rooms.

Drab Hotel with 60's decor.

Posted Apr 30, 2014
Pros: The beds were comfortable.
Cons: The uniforms of the staff were a bit officious and lacked colour. The attitude of the staff should be more helpful.
Location: It is quite a short bus ride to town where at VIPs you can get a great breakfast for 3.95 euros.
The decor in the hotel relies mostly on beech wood panels and drab colours in the rooms. We arrived at the weekend and were told that the price of breakfast was 9 euros. But that was the price at the weekend and when we decided to try the breakfast in the mid week, the cost was 16 euros. This was not good value as there were 3 of us. We struggled to get the staff to supply a kettle and tea making facilities in the room.

Good hotel close to City Centre

Posted Apr 28, 2014
The reception staff are very welcoming and speak English, however, most other staff only speak Spanish. The hotel is very close to the city centre and the distance to Santiago Bernabeu can be walked. A lot of taxis are around to get around the city are are quite cheap. Madrid itself is cheaper than expected has lots of restaurants and bar around. The hotel rooms have been refurbished and have very good shower, bath and beds. The rooms are very clean and get fully cleaned each day.

Ok for the price but not the best rooms.

Posted Apr 26, 2014
Pros: Staff were excellent. Friendly and spoke english to help with directions and problems.
Cons: Rooms could be bigger; beds could be comfier.
Location: The location was fine. Great connection to Metro station and walking distance to Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Great grocery store nearby also.
I stayed with a friend for four nights. The staff were excellent and understood my lack of spanish. They advised and helped wherever possible. The wifi was great for getting information and directions and breakfast was great -if not a touch overpriced). The disappointment came in the room and facilities of the hotel. The twin room had two single beds on wheels that even with brakes on moved throughout the night. The view was of a fire escape square. The room was far smaller than even basic hotel. We spent majority of our time out of the room but if you plan to spend evenings or morning in the hotel the room would have dramatically effected our holiday. Overall what it was ok.. wifi, breakfast and staff balanced out our disappointment in the room.

Nice hotel close to stádium Bernabeu.

Posted Mar 30, 2014
Pros: I like the
Cons: Internet (slow)
Location: Nice area
The hotel is nice from inside, the people from reception are very kind. I have been in many hotels, but this is much better than the others. However the internet was not as good as it supposed to be. I tried to upload some pictures to facebook, but after 4 pictures my internet is gone and I could not use it.

Close to Public Transport, Quiet and Clean

Posted Mar 5, 2014
Cons: sound proofing rooms & access to ice machines, though not typical in EU would be nice
Its not a hotel you plan to stay in your room and use the facilities. It is Madrid after all so you spend your time out and about.
