“great location”

This hotel was within walking distance of most attractions and the metro. The breakfact was so-so but the market was within a few blocks and had fresh fruit, pastries, coffee and all sorts of delicious Spanish foods. The room was very small but comfortable. The bathroom had glass doors, which we saw in hotels across Spain....so if privacy is a concern, this could be tricky. The hydro shower was not as fun as one might expect....sort of like getting poked all over. Overall, a good value and excellent location.

“Old hotel updated to state of the art”

The location is central to Madrid, just off the Puerta del Sol, within walking distance to the Palace, museums, El Corte Ingles store, and more. The disco across the street from the hotel, was in a guide book that we bought! The hotel lobby and lounge was very attactive: historic but maintained and updated, with exposed beams. We photographed the wood stairs! They serve only a breakfast buffet, but the arched brick basement where it is served, is something to see! Our room had 2 double beds together, to make a king sized bed, and a set of bunk beds - in short, it was roomy and comfortable for Europe. The room had been redone to be quite striking: glass and chrome, modern sink, for example. But we had to do a few in-room fixes: place the shower door, tighten down the faucet. Still, it was easy to fix, and again the room was spacey and comfortable. The door to the balcony opened, with a very nice view of Arenal. But it was a bit noisy, all hours, and there are lots of diesel cars... There was free internet but only 2 systems. (But hotel does have wi-fi). One woman at the desk always acted like she was doing us a big favor, even when just "buzzing" open the front door. But one man at the desk delivered excellent service! He helped us find a 24 hour grocery, and was always very polite to us. He spoke English very well, too. Housekeeping kept the room clean, but didn't always replace all soap, toilet paper, etc.

“Petit Place Arenal Madrid”

Wonderful location between Puerto Del Sol and Plaza Mayor. Right across the street from the San Ginero Chocolateria and its famous churros. Perfect for a family. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful, and we could not have been more pleased. Starbucks is even next door. Highly recommmended.

“Its Ok”

The location of this hotel is in the middle of Puerto Del Sol. You are about 5 minutes walk from Palacio Real and about 2 minutes walk away from the train station. The place being in Puerto del Sol is very busy so if you need quiteness this is not the location to be in. I happen to enjoy it. The staff at Hotel Petit are wonderful. They are friendly and very helpful. The hotel is very secure as you will need to be buzzed in before you enter. The room is as what they describe on the pictures. Beautiful bathroom and nice furniture and design. The buffet breakfast for 7.00 euros is not bad at all because the food are wonderful and fresh. The hotel room provides everyone a free safe deposit box where you use your credit card but no charge is applied. I did not like the fact that they do not clean the room well enough. Rooms are being cleaned everyday but just not clean enough for my expectations. There is a major road construction in front of the Hotel which is really annoying from the dust you inhale to the loud drilling noise. Aside from the construction I would recommend this place to other people.

“not impressed”

Hotel in good location, but reception staff was rude, at check in and check out we had to wait 15 minutes as the person made long phone calls, seemed oblivious to our presence. The rooms are tiny, equipeed with high tech looking gadgets but some of the lights did not work. There was a bad sewage smell in the room emanating from the shower drain. The breakfast buffet was very nice with lots of choices and lots of fruit.

“Petit Palace Arenal, Madrid”

The hotel is centrally situated. Our double room was small; bed comfortable The ensuite is separated from the room by a frosted-glass door (non-lockable with a see-through panel). The room safe was locked when I arrived -so inaccessible. Three requests to different staff members to have it opened had no success so no way of securing valuables. Otherwise staff helpful - e.g. calling taxi, controlling door entry.

“Central location, noisy, bathroom needs help”

This is a great location for being in short walking distance to a lot of the sites, shopping, and restaurants. Our room was on the street side of the hotel and we had a small terrace facing the street. We bought a bottle of wine, cheese, ham, and bread, watched people walk by and enjoyed some street musicians. Be aware, the street side of the hotel is noisy until 6am on the weekends. The hotel can't control the noise and that's not why we aregiving this hotel a 3. The bathroom is why this hotel gets a 3. The glass bathroom door was out alignment and wouldn't close. Even if it did close, you could still see a person on the toilet because the door is not fully frosted glass. In addition, the shower wreaked of mold. we smelled this same small in the subway so I assume that the old sewage system was the culprit.
