Superb location amazing hotelPosted Jun 30, 2014
Met by a lovely receptionist who booked us into our room with a balcony. Everything we needed was in the room, spotless and nice decor. The tapas in the hotel was fab. We tried other places but loved the great staff at this hotel. Javier was especially hospitable. Yes we could hear some of the people outside in the evening but this was part of the whole experience. It was a vibrant place and we loved that. For us it was perfect

Great hotel in the center of Madrid.Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: Nice room. Very quiet considering all the restaurants and bars close by. Great tapas in hotel restaurant.
Cons: No lobby or outdoor spaces to relax.
Hotel is perfectly located in the middle of all the downtown action. The street where the hotel is located is packed with restaurants and bars. Staff was very nice and helpfull.

Fantastic hotel, staff and location!Posted May 27, 2014
Everything was fabulous, plus the little tapas bar across the road does the best strawberries, cream and chocolate I had. Staff were brilliant and really lovely with my 7 yr old daughter. Would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel in a great locationPosted May 26, 2014
Pros: Very modern clean room, with excellent shower. Staff was very helpful and nice
Cons: Less noise from restuarant traveling through the atrium. Maybe if they put a glass structure to block the noise but keep the elegant ambiance visible
Location: Close to all attractions. Bars restuarants, markets and Metro
Had a wonderful time in this little hotel. All around great, room specious with excellent bathroom. Close to every thing very lively clean area with bars, tapas places and restuarants. Close to Metro and walking distance to main attractions.

A great findPosted Mar 27, 2014
Pros: Great location, very comfortable room, great food
Location: All major attractions were easily within walking distance, lots of great art to see as well as the royal palace, cathedral, monasteries etc.
The hotel was in an excellent location, within walking distance of all the major tourist attractions and the street it was located in had a wide range of good restaurants to eat in. The hotel itself had it's own really good bar and restaurant - dinner and breakfast were excellent. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was very comfortable - great shower.

Not impressed !!! Sent somewhere else !!!Posted Mar 5, 2014
Pros: See above - we didn't like it But La Posada del Dragon was fantastic - and the staff were great !!
Cons: I think it would be courteous if Posada del Leon had told us they didn't have a room for us BEFORE we arrived - I think it's called "communication"
Location: Location was fabulous and very buzzy. Lots of bars and restaurents - definitely recommend the area.
We had a great stay but not in this hotel ! When we checked in we were sent to the hotel next door with no explanation. This hotel was called La Posada del Dragon which was much better and more friendly. However, we thought we would give the original hotel another go and went back in the evening. Very uninviting ! First of all someone was rattling bottles next to us (doing a stock take I presume) with a clipboard and checking what was there - not on a Friday night Please !!! The bar assistant was very unhelpful with our choice of wines consequently we did not return again. We went back to La Posada del Dragon and enjoyed the rest of our holiday so thank you for not accommodating us in your hotel !!!

Best location in Madrid with cool vibePosted Feb 7, 2014
Pros: Location location location.... Decor in the room was very modern and fun, and the bed was incredibly comfortable.
Cons: There was some odor in the room, which might have been due to the lack of venting in the bathroom.
Location: Eating is what you should do near or at the hotel as it's in the best tapas neighborhood.
We were pleasantly surprised with option to upgrade to the suite room, which was a really stylish vaulted ceiling room with bathtub in the middle of the room! The location couldn't have been better for us, being in a really energy-filled neighborhood, with the best tapas restaurants in Madrid. It could get loud, so beware if you are sensitive to noise. We also ate at the restaurant at the hotel, and while the service was bad, the wine selection and food was great.

Architecturally unique, convenient locationPosted Dec 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
Very comfortable stay in the attic. Room size is very generous. Main level has interior courtyard and see-through floors to show-case wine cellar that mimics an archeological dig site. Service staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel is conveniently located in central Madrid, within walking distance to many attractions.
