Four sleepless nights at this hotel

Cons: Sound proofing Get new comfortable beds
Location: Location was good
Stayed four nights in this hotel (two nights pre-Trafalgar tour and two with the tour). Could not get proper sleep, as the room was very noisy. There was a thin door to the next room through which we could hear the other hotel guests who were going to bed at 2:00 am and waking up at 5:30 am. Last couple of nights a group of teenage girls (probably also on a tour) had karaoke party till very late, but still getting up at 5:30 am. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, very firm and hot (roll away quality). The breakfast was poor too, there were a lot of insects flying over the food.

I understand you stayed in one of our communicated rooms and that was part of your negative experience. During summer period lot of tourist tours stay in our hotel, and although we cannot control before arrival if they will be young or not, we could have help you offering a different room, where you could have had a more relaxing stay. Regarding your comments about beds, and listening other comments from previous guests, we are right now making changes in bedrooms which include new materials for beds, trying to do this more comfortable. Hopefully we will have all new changes for September. We will keep working in giving guarantee of the service and products in breakfast that for years has had the recognition of our guests. Close to railway station

Pros: Pleasant and cozy, especially after a tired day out
Cons: A small kettle to make hot water
Location: Many little eateries and shops if you walk around the area
The hotel staff was nice and we were able to check in immediately upon arrival at about 10 in the morning as usual check in was 2 or 3 in the afternoon. It was indeed a pleasant surprise for us. The room was superb and welcoming after a long overnight train ride from Portugal.

Near the train station

Easy walk from main Madrid train station. Not much within ten blocks in the way of restaurants. Hotel gave me old model safe with no instructions. When I questioned them they said I just did not understand. After second trip show me they had to change the battery so it would work. Also I could not send or receive any email on iPhone and iPad when I checked into this hotel. Experts could not fix the problem. Strange thing happened when I went to Barcelona. I could now again have email. I do not know what the problem was but Apple, Att and Yahoo could not understand why email did not work. Overall hotel nice used by people having meetings during the week. Quiet on weekends.

Really bad location and high price for quality

I stayed in this hotel twice and I can say that it has the worst location. It is not near enough to the train/metro stations that you can easilly walk but it is so close that normally a cab won´t give you a ride. Hotel´s quality doesn´t make this inconvinience worth it. I have been in much better hotels with better prices in Madrid..

Cons: Didn't get requested wake up call...luckily had set our own back up alarm or would have missed our flights.
Location: Very close to lots of restaurants, metro stations, and train station.Chery
No frills but a short walk to train and metro stations. Staff very helpful, english and spanish, accomodated all needs readily.

Hot in the bad sense

Pros: Helpful staff. Inexpensive.
Cons: Heating, A/C.
Location: Right by Atocha station but not on the good side. Can reach Retiro under a not-attractive tunnel and short walk. No restaurants close except station
My room was too hot. Asked reception and was informed that heating/cooling was controlled centrally - open the window. Spent the first night on top of the bed, damp with sweat. 1 deg out, heating (unfortunately) won the battle - the room stayed a steady (my estimate) 35 deg.

Nice hotel but note 10 mins walk from the main Atocha station (past a pop up flea market on the footpath at 7am in the morning)!
