“Madrid's most miserable hotel”
We felt cheated. The hotel was under renovation. The hotel staff unwelcoming and miserable. The room was very depressing, not even a picture on the wall . This bore no resemblance to the photo's on their website. As an indication on how mean this hotel was is they charge you 63cents a day to use the safe! No free internet. The only thing going for this hotel was its location.
“Perfect Location and Paper Thin Walls Gives You Incentive to Explore Madrid”
I booked this hotel for it's apparent location, and was not dissapointed. We were able to walk to all major sights and the metro station was close enough when we needed to get to the train station and airport. A couple streets over from the hotel there was some sketchiness, but I never felt unsafe in or around our hotel (the doors were locked and we had to ring ourselves in after midnight). The staff spoke minimal English which proved to be problematic when checking in, but a smile and an attempt at Spanish helped tremendously. The internet was not working, the fire alarm went off on our first night, and yes, the walls are paper thin; we heard practically everything in the rooms around us, including really loud partiers who came in at 6:30AM. Perhaps not appropriate for high- end travelers, but if you're more interested in exploring the city, this place definitely works well.
“Stinky rooms, but great location”
The staff is extremely rude, but I think thats just how the service is in Madrid. Beds were very hard, and the walls are paper thin. Also, the staff cleans the rooms with very stinky cleaning supplies. This being said, the Hotel is located in a very convenient area. Right by the metro, and lots of places to eat and shop.
“Thin walls but a great location”
I choose this hotel bases on proximity to major subway lines and shopping. The hotel was clean, fairly comfortable and the bathroom had plenty of hot water. There was a nice spread for breakfast. The only real complaint is that the walls are quite thin and you can hear someone in the next room sneeze. All in all I was satisfied with the room because location was great.
“Value proposition for leisure travellers”
Regente is conveniently located in the historic city center. Maintenance is good and we stayed in standard room with extra bed (+ 1 standard bed for a kid) which was important. Comfort of the room gets mark 3 for 2 reasons, first the room was quite small (maybe with extra bed, and no entrance area), and the walls between the rooms were so thin that you could hear neighbors activities - if you are not an early bird yourself. The hotel is ideal for those who prefer walking excursions, as city centers attractions are very close. Internet in the hotel is at extra charge, please consult beforehand the price and whether it is operational. During our stay (8 nights) it was offline.

“Met Expectations”
The Regente is a nice hotel with a great location in Central Madrid within walking distance to most of the major attractions. The hotel was clean and had all the basic ammenities to make the stay enjoyable. While not a luxury hotel, we were impressed with the value and service. The only complaint we had was in checking out, our bill had a "tv" charge of about $15 that we did not initiate (as we did not turn on the tv). The front desk manager argued it could not have been activated unless we turned on the tv, but agreed not to charge us for it. I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in Madrid for a few nights and explore the city.
“Not that impressed”
We were given keys to a room that was clearly not cleaned by the help and the sheets hadn't been changed. I felt the pictures online didn't look like the hotel room when we got inside. The men at the front counter downstairs were not pleasant or helpful. The location is definitely a great one, but I as for service, I wasn't impressed and would not go back to this hotel.
“A Great Experience”
Regente was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and the hotel is in a great location for shopping and eating. Regente is located on a side street so there was hardly any noise from traffic. My wife and I were very happy with the overall hotel experience.
“Awesome place”
It was a good place to stay. Customer service very friendly! but wifi is NOT free! disappointed with that for a 3 star hotel......
