Charming RespitePosted Nov 7, 2013
Pros: The staff is outstanding. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The cava upon arrival and a relaxing visit to the terrace set the stage.
Cons: No improvements needed.
Location: Local tapas bars, the Prado and wonderful walks along the Paseos.
A wonderful break after lengthy travels. Exceptional staff, room quality and hospitality. Convenient to all the major sights of Madrid with handy public transportation for outlying areas. Worth every euro.

Small elegant hotel conveniently locatedPosted Jul 12, 2013
Location: An easy walk to the Metro..
Our first visit to Madrid and we could not have asked for a better hotel. On a quiet side street with a beautiful lobby and wonderful terrace patio in the rear set in a quiet courtyard. We enjoyed both drinks and dinner on the terrace. The staff was top notch. The two Jose's at the front desk were extremely helpful and simply a pleasure to deal with. The atmosphere is intimate and it felt like everyone knew us from the moment we arrived owing the the small number of rooms. Our room was spacious, very comfortable and cheerful. The housekeeping was excellent. And the king size bed was really king size and very comfortable.

A gem in MadridPosted Jun 22, 2013
Excellent hotel with old world flair. The staff were exceptional (a special nod to Marco at the reception) The location is central but in a quiet small street. The hotel is strategically located near the fashionable Salamanca district and the attractions of the centre of Madrid

Great experience in MadridPosted May 29, 2013
Pros: The terrace out back looked onto a garden. It felt secluded, not like you were in the middle of town.
Cons: Restaurant price was beyond our budget.
Location: Within walking distance of most of the museums and about four blocks from a subway line.
Very nice old building that has been well taken care of. Close to subway and downtown Madrid. The staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to make our stay more comfortable. The room was large and very quiet.

Madrid at it's BestPosted May 18, 2013
Pros: Relais et Chateau website and is my brother's preferred hotel.
Location: I did in the original paragraph.
I've been traveling for 50 years and my first time in Madrid. Relais et Chateau hotels are a favorite, first choice always. Hotel Orfilia fits right in. Well located for me and my interests ( the Prado, the Palace and Cathedral, old town), the staff was consistantly friendly, helpful and wanted my stay to be a nice experience. To be in town, the hotel is quiet even in the garden while we lunched. The lobby and common areas are beautiful as well as the rooms. I will return to Madrid and plan to stay there again. Wiyh great pleasure I give this small hotel an A plus.

Pros: The rooms and ambience of hotel
This is a great hotel. My room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and professional. The location was superb - within walking distance of all the sites I wanted to see and the neighbourhood was quiet and upmarket. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone going to Madrid.

Beautiful small hotel.Posted Apr 24, 2013
Pros: The attentive and very helpful staff.
Cons: The rooms could use a little updating.
Location: Wonderful. Very quiet yet only three blocks from high scale shopping and a 5 minute cab ride to the Prado.
The building, staff and public spaces were charming. The furnishings in the guest rooms based on our superior class room which was very large could use some updating, The location is very quiet and yet you are only two short blocks away from one the main streets leading to the Prado which is less than 5 minutes by taxi. Cannot say enough about the helpfulness of the staff.
