The staff is very friendly and will try really hard to answer questions, give directions, etc. The hotel is very trendy and dark all over the place. There is music in lower floors all the time and parties (gatherings) that make it hard to navigate both the first floor and the elevators. I'd recommend this hotel to young people who don't mind these things.

Ghost in the pipesPosted Sep 15, 2013
On a more serious note the plumbing is in terrible conditionin, making unheard if noise and sometimes the shower suddenly released water gr the shower head in the middle of the night as if it was on.

Best Location, not happy about the poolPosted Sep 5, 2013
Pros: Lobby, wifi, terrace, location, friendly staff, within walking distance to the city tour bus and subway stations.
Cons: Pool is too small, having to reserve it is a bit awkward.-
Location wise, this is the best you can do with a close second Hotel de las Letras and Ada Palace if you want to be close to the scene. If sightseeing is more important than location, I would recommend NH Tepa or ME Reina Sofia or any of the other, more classic, luxury hotels, though they seem a bit dated (Ritz, Westin). That being said, Oscar is in the heart of the scene, within walking distance of bars and clubs. One has to reserve the use of pool per day, which was a bit weird. The terrace gets happening but gets too crowded, one cannot charge bills to the room and the pool is ridiculously small. Also, the cocktail selection is not too hot and they can´t seem to mix anything that´s not in the cocktail list. The lobby is noce, but a bit more ´boutique´ than the rest of the hotel. Superior rooms are spacious, but the smaller rooms have the shower and dressing room (sink mirror) in different parts...weird huh? Guests need acces to a room key to use the elevator and (sometimes) main entrance when it is closed late at night. In any event, if what you are after is best location, this is a good pick and rooms are comfortable and modern, in a Barbarella kinda of way.

Great locationPosted Sep 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
Service was friendly and informative. excellent bed and pillows. close to Gran Via and hop on/hop off bus and the Sunday flea market. Breakfast was very good and excellent service and smile from the guy who was in charge. We had a junior suite, while it was a huge room, one third of it was occupied by a huge snake like foam lounge which was totally impractical and one could not sit on it. The question is with some designer hotels, has the designer ever stayed in one ?

Room switchPosted Aug 25, 2013
Nice 1st room but slight odour/air broken so swiftly and courteously moved to 2nd room. Problems solved. Nice staff. Breakfast lets the standard of the hotel down but that is the only reason I can think of that this is 3* instead of 4*. Recommended.

I should of done my homeworkPosted Aug 24, 2013
Pros: Nice staff
Cons: Its pretty much catered for the gay community, My room was no different to the ones you find at the Ibis, ex the naked men on the walls..
Location: Its close to shopping n stuff, but at night can get very noisy with the gay clubbing and drag queens roaming just outside the entrance lol - harmless
I had no idea it was a gay hotel. Nice but way too silver-screen for my liking
