“madrid”
Great hotel and location
“Absolutely wonderful. The best hotel in the world”
Friendly. Helpful. Spotless. Centrally located. Next to the Prado and close to the train station. Don´t stay at the Ritz across the street because they are snooty and RUDE with a stupid dress code. Besides, the Ritz smells musty.
“Palace Hotel”
Better than the Ritz and not as snooty.
“Will be back!”
Will be back
“Pricey, but in a great place”
internet is like 17 euros a day a little pricey but the hotel is in a great location
“A hotel of pedigree”
Excellent service for any request, a helpful concierge who will advise on all excursions. Indeed consider going to Cordoba, only 1.5 hours away on the high speed train from nearby Atocha Station for a different taste of Spain. Location is faultless and all main sights are within walking distance. The sightseeing bus is also just round the corner and is brilliant for orientating yourself in a new city. You are also near Plaza Santa Ana and Plaza Mayor- good for people watching and tucking into some tapas, before going down the side streets for better value food and drink. Only negatives for me was the eye wateringly expensive breakfast. Treat yourself once then go instead to VIPS just round the corner and enjoy an American or English style breakfast for a fraction of the cost. Ladies bring your own hairdryer as the one supplied is hopeless! All in all you won't fare better in any other hotel in the same category!
“great location”
Great location and friendly staff. One inconvenience was a daily charge for wireless internet connection.
“Great hotel to stay. Best part of town.”
Hotel is beautiful. Block from Prado. Easy cab ride away from everything else.
“Best Hotel in Madrid”
Everything is great about this hotel--the location (near museums, the park, the metro, the train station, and walking distance to Plaza Mayor, etc), the lobby (beautiful and welcoming), the bar (stunning), the staff (very helpful and friendly), the rooms (good sized) and the gym (great, even for a "gym snob"). I will most definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends/family.
“not a five star”
A rather stuffy old hotel, not what you would expect for the price. Customer service is very disorganized, more like a three star hotel.
