We loved this boutique hotel from the moment we checked in. Our room was very clean and quiet. The atmosphere is awesome. We did up grade to a King Suite room and it was perfect. The free coffee delivery service in the morning was a nice little surprise as well. The location of this hotel is perfect, only 2 blocks from Michigan Avenue Shopping and lots of places to eat in the area as well.

Check in was a breeze and we had a fine room on the 7th floor. I requested a room away from Vertigo, the club in the top floor and when I heard music bumping I was surprised. I walked around the floor to realize that the music shaking my walls was from 2 rooms away. I hadn't yet inspected and looked over my room, but when I did I saw a LARGE mp3 music player in the room that really cranked. It was very nice to have that option, but if you are coming to the hotel with kids or people that might want to sleep early, be warned since other rooms have the ability to get loud. That all being said, in the evening it was not loud and we slept well. However, the walls are very thin and noise does happen. The bed was the most comfortable bed, too. Great staff, great location, I would go again. I got this room to celebrate my wife's 40th and she said it was the best downtown Chicago hotel we've been to.

This is a very modern hotel. I stayed in a studio room on the 9th floor. I loved everything about this hotel. It had a very well stocked mini bar and the amenities were very nice. What hotel gives you a loofah? This one! We were also able to check in an hour and a half early ehcih was wonderful. We sat and had drinks after dinner at the bar in the lobby. Our bartender was excellent. Drinks weren't too expensive considering it was Chicago.
I do have one complaint. The walls are VERY thin. I was talking on the phone and my husband could hear every word I said in the hall with the door closed. There's inly 5 rooms per floor and I stood at the far end of the hall and could hear two men talking in their room on the other end of the hall.
That's really the only negative thing about the hotel.

We had a great stay at the Whitehall for two nights. Everyone was very friendly. We had a issue with the thermostat that was taken care of in a matter of minutes. After that smooth sailing and the beds were almost certainly the most comfortable of beds I've slept on in a hotel in quite a while
