"Upscale Family Friendly Hotel"
My 3 young kids and I stayed here for 1 night during Spring Break. I was a little nervous that we would feel out of place traipsing in with a stroller, backpacks of toys, and stuffed animals, but the staff was very friendly and accommodating. They switched our room to one with a better view which was a real treat for kids from a small town. The rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed, including a keurig. I especially enjoyed that fact that the breakfast was served on each floor, making getting ready in the morning very simple as the kids could grab what they wanted and eat it in the room as I packed up. I would totally recommend the Kinzie and would definitely stay there again!

"Great Location, hip hotel"
Loved the ambiance, the location, the conviviality of the staff. The hotel parking is too expensive, however. Try to leave the car elsewhere.

"Perfect for a little get away"
I was in Chicago on business and stayed at The Dana. Everything was fabulous. They do not nickel and dime you with the minibar and room service. The prices are all reasonable. Great location!

"Great place to luxuriate"
I love this place, the style was traditional carried over to contemporary. It's a fusion of old and new! They take care of you, and the roomservice is great!!

"Nice "boutique" hotel in great location"
By "boutique", I mean a non-chain hotel that has some character. The Whitehall is almost directly across the street from the Four Seasons, about a block west of the Hilton Chicago and the Hancock Tower, and a block west and south of the venerable Drake Hotel. In other words, you're in a great spot among some heavy hitters, and -- if our experience was any indication -- you won't pay the heavy hitter prices. Of course, the accommodations aren't swanky like those places, but if you're okay with a nice smaller hotel and don't care about not having a pool and a really fancy restaurant on site, this is a great choice. The Red Line is about two blocks west and south, and Michigan Ave. (where several buses run) is a half block) to the east, so getting around downtown and beyond is easy and accessible. The 18 mile-long Chicago Lakefront trail is about three blocks to the northeast (just past the Drake), so if you like to walk, run, bike, etc., you're close to that as well. There are two restaurants "attached" to the Whitehall on the first floor (meaning you don't have to leave the building to get to them). We ate at the Japanese restaurant the night we arrived because we were in a rush to get to a show - it was nothing to write home about, but did in a pinch. The Italian restaurant seemed way overpriced - for breakfast anyway -- but I can't say anything about the food. You are close to several good restaurants on Rush Street, a half a block west and 2-3 blocks north.

"Exceptional"
While this is a very old facility (built in 50s) it is very clean and neat. The location is excellent, just north of the river downtown (the Loop). A mile and a half directly west of the Navy Pier and a mile and a half from Millennium Park. The room rate and free parking make this an exceptional facility and location.

"Location Location Location!"
I am a Native Chicagoan transplanted to FLA when I came home for a visit this is where I will stay for my Downtown Time. Nothing fancy but a great location and convenient parking across the street for $24 for 24 hours. Full kitchen is a bonus. I paid $130 a night and worth it! Much better than a hotel in the area. This is an awesome place to stay. My only complaint was the bathroom smelled moldy/ musty. I kept the door shut.
