Service degraded drastically.
This is my second time in this hotel.
From the first visit to the second, a huge difference. And the difference touches the check-in time till the check-out. Here is why :
- As a Hotels.com Gold member, I have the right for early check-in if there is availability and guaranteed late check-out. I got neither the first nor the second perk.
- The welcome in the reception is cold and not appropriate for a 5 stars hotel.
- We did not find a spot for our car in the parking lot.
- There are missing amenities in the room like shower gel and water boiler machine.
- Restaurant food quality degraded. We were 8 in the hotel. 3 of us including me had diarrhea.
- Restaurant servers are not attentive to clients requests. They do not smile and some of them are even rude. I asked their chief for a water boiler machine, he promised to send one to my room. Got nothing.
Compared to Iberostar Kuriat Palace in Sousse where we got Gold member perks in check-in and check-out time and where we got a very warm welcome, the Iberostar Royal Elmansour is not a "Very Good" hotel anymore. I dont recommend for people who are attentive to details. I'll definetly go back to Sousse but I'll think twice before returning to Royal El Mansour Hotel.
Special thanks, though, to Fares, the lifeguard guy, who is one of the best employees in the hotel. Always available and very hardworking.
