Wonderful place!

From the moment we arrived we were delighted with the place. The taxi brought us into Es Castell and down the road towards the sea view and around the corner was the beautiful and very unobtrusive hotel building, what a lovely surprise. The staff were all excellent, we had a fabulous room with a sea view and although this was not a sunny balcony we sat there many times in the evening just watching the quiet harbour entrance and the lovely yachts and the very occasional larger ship. The Blue Sky Bar on the rooftop of the hotel is spectacular. When we walked out to the nearby harbour of Calesfonts we were also delighted with this even though many businesses were closed as it was towards the end of the season. We walked quite a lot into the surrounding areas and enjoyed every minute of that too. There was nothing we would change about our week with the exception of one tiny thing for us - the swimming pool was rather too cold for a dip.

Pros: clean and comfy near to areas of interest
Cons: put different doors on toilets in the rooms heat pool
Location: mahon brilliant to walk round habour worth a boat trip. la mola(the fort of isabella) really worth a visit but need a car and at least 3 hours
staff welcoming and pleasant. hotel clean bedrooms very modern ok if you are not modest about lack of privacy (sat on toilet and could see husband on bed through gap in glass door) buffet food good but not very hot breakfast the best enjoyed stay for 2 days perfect to visit mahon and local area. pool too cold and too small would not like to go when busy or full

Chambre spacieuse, personnel très agréable, vue sur bras de mer, piscines agréables, buffet du petit déjeuner extra et du diner très bien. Pas beaucoup de centre d' intêret sur Es Castel mais bon point de départ pour explorer cette partie de l'île.

Wonderful rooftop

Pros: Rooftop!
Cons: Tea and coffee freely available in the room.
Location: Nice harbour side bars and restaurants just around the corner. Excellent sailing from Mahon marina.
Stayed one night at this hotel. The hotel is very nice and clean and all very modern. As it was quite expensive would have liked to have tea and coffee in the room. The kettle and everything needed was already there but you had to pay extra to buy the tea and coffee pack!! Wonderful views from the roof and the jacuzzis are great but a little cold, however this is appreciated if you have been in the hot sun. Nice area of local bars etc just round the corner, so don't do fully inclusive otherwise you will miss out.

Pros: Staff,rooftop bar and jacuzzis, great view over the bay, lovely breakfast.
Cons: Having an iron in every room would be helpful as we had to ring down each day to borrow one from reception.
Location: Very good location with a multitude of lovely restaurants in walking distance as well as very pleasant walks around the bay.
Overall we really enjoyed our staff at Barcelo. The hotel is very nicely decorated with the rooftop bar being a particular highlight. The staff were very helpful and accommodating as well as being exceedingly pleasant. Juan Pablo and Luisa in particular stood out for us.

the stuf on front desk is unprofessionalthey dont know what they are doing I lost 2 days of my vacation almost all of them do not understand english it was very hard communicate

A sea view superior room results in a view over a car park, building companies back yard and maybe if I hung my wife by the ankles of a very small balcony then she could just see the sea. I asked the staff and they said if you can see an inch of sea it's a sea view. Pool small and cramped, top floor view great but service very poor. Breakfast good, location a bit to far out of Mahon to walk 10 euro in taxi, local restaurants good

Hotel bom, mas ....

O hotel é muito bom. Apesar de ficar em uma área onde as demais construçcoes são imples, ele destoa do resto. Tem uma vista linda e é foi reformado a pouco, com bom gosto e boa funcionalidade, mas .... O hotel passa aquela idéia de "falso barato". Explico: ele usa aquela filosofis hipócrita que só está te cobrando pelo que você usa. Então as toalhas da piscina são pagas a parte (alguém vai a um hotel de praia e não vai a piscina ?); o cofre do quarto é pago a parte (segurançca agora é opcional !); o jantar no restaurante buffet só pode entrar com calça comprida (num restaurante de praia que nem tão luxuoso é), mas eles possuem uma calça pra te alugar; o café da manhã estava incluído, mas o Nespresso era por fora; etc.. ou seja tenta vender aquela ideia de que ele está sendo bonzinho com você, e que o preço dele é justo. Eu sugiro que na próxima temporada, eles cobrem pelo papel higiênico e pelo elevador.
