Views of the Straits of Malacca

Posted Apr 22, 2015
Pros: Walkable distance to Jonkers. Friendly and helpful staff especially the concierge.
Cons: Breakfast included in room rate as this was extra.
Location: Close to Jonkers, shopping malls, and other sites of interest in Malacca.
The room was large and fabulously comfortable with a king size bed. Good choice for breakfast buffet. Relaxing pool area with indoor gym. Front rooms have a great view of the Straits of Malacca.

4 good days in Malacca

Posted Mar 5, 2015
Hotel is ideally placed for sightseeing, dinning etc. Hotel staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in a Equatorial Club room and found it well worth the extra money, even though the club lounge run out of gin and whisky and wasn't replenished for our remaining 2 days!! Our special thanks go to Amin for helping us with transportation, bus tickets etc. Hotel is a little dated and our first room was very musty and damp, we spoke to Amin and within a few hours we were moved to a better room on a higher floor, we recommend room 1924!

Pleasant short break at Hotel Equatorial Melaka

Posted Jan 23, 2015
Pros: Cleanliness
Cons: Free upgrade of room during non peak period
Location: Shopping
Together with my two sisters and my husband, we st20ayed at the hotel for two nights from Jan 18-20.. The hotel was located within walking distance to the shopping areas like Palawan Shopping Mall, Parkson, onker Street, etc. The room was spacious and clean. We had dinner at the Seri Nyonya Peranakan Restaurant located on the 3rd floor of the hotel on your first night. The food was so authentic and delicious that we had to go back for dinner again on the 2nd night. We enjoyed the Ayam Ponteh and the Fried Fish with chilli paste. The only disappointment was that the restaurant charged us for the sambal balachan @ RM4.00. I feel they should have provided this to us at no cost. Forget about swimming in the pool as the water is icy cold. Will definitely book this hotel again on our next trip to Malacca. Hopefully, we could have our room upgraded to the Equator Club Room as we are quite anxious to know the difference in both the Deluxe and Equator Club room

Nice hotel, friendly staff.

Posted Jan 15, 2015
Pros: Very centrally located.
Location: The bathroom needed upgrade. Especially the bathtub, it is fading into a brownish colour.
We stayed for 2 nts. Check in was supposed to be from 3pm. We arrived at hotel at mid -day. Because there are rooms ready, staff at the reception desk checked us in straight away. So we didn't have to wait until 3pm. That allowed us to have more time to explore Melaka. Everything is within walking distance, like Jonker street, tourist board, Nynoya museum, & St. Paul's hill. Hotel staff always carry smiles on their face. I will definitely stay there again.
