Great value

Posted Oct 8, 2014
Pros: Location. Very pleasant staff. Excellent value for money.
Cons: Move it 4000 miles closer to the UK so we could visit more often.
Location: In a busy area. Shopping malls, museums and historic sites are all a short stroll away.
Arrived for six day stay on coach from Singapore. Short taxi journey (20 ringgit) from Melaka Sentral. We booked Equator Club room which we felt was well worth the extra £20 per night for all day tea/coffee, free wifi, quiet breakfast and two hour drinks and snacks each evening, the room is also very large with lounge area. The pool area is well kept with plenty of loungers and tables and good size kiddie pool. We ate at the Seri Nyonya restaurant which was excellent and also did the short cookery course which we enjoyed. We had two breakfasts in the main breakfast area which is very busy but good choice of food, we took our other breakfasts in the Equator Club, much quieter, some hot dishes and eggs to order. The location is the best for shopping, being a few minutes walk from most malls, Jonker Walk is a pleasant 20 minute stroll past the museum quarter but really only comes alive at weekends. We were very happy with our stay, no problems, no surprises.

Family visit to Malacca

Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: It is centrally located & within walking distance to shopping & food outlets .
Cons: The only problem is the traffic congestion near the hotel.
Location: Shopping , tourist attractions and food outlets are all nearby. Jonker st is also nearby.
The service was good & they even allowed us early check in after the long journey it was really good to have a good rest immediately after arrival.

Our Stay at Hotel Equatorial

Posted Sep 16, 2014
Pros: Location and facility
Cons: The cable TV channels are too limited and wish there are more channels for selection. TV is a bit "old" hence if the hotel can do a bit of reburshing.
Location: Shopping and foot reflexology are near by
It was really pleasant to stay at Hotel Equatorial and it was our second times staying there. The location is funtastic where there are many shopping malls nearby as well as restaurant. We will definitely go back to Hotel Equatorial if we are going to Malacca again. And we will definitely choose the same hotel in other locations too.

Missing Laundry & Working Repairs.

Posted Sep 7, 2014
Pros: I like the swimming pool, the breakfast from Monday thru Friday was good (Saturday was choatic)
Cons: Choices on what to watch on TV (lack of choices).
Location: Native foods is good (restaurants), checking out the historical sites, museum, and temples.
The first day checking was good with no problems. The second day I had a problem with someone upstairs doing heavy hammering on the floor. I called the front desk and they noted that the room above has a 3 day repair and they asked me if I wanted to change rooms. So I changed rooms from 1909 to 1521. 2 days later I had not received my laundry hoping that the front desk and laundry staff / house keeping would be communicating (computer entry of room changed would trigger where to send the missing laundry). The hotel policy is if the laundry is picked up prior to 10 AM, it will be delivered that evening. If I hadn't called on the second day there would not be a follow-up on the missing laundry. The worst thing is I still paid the laundry price (the final bill did not match the check list price; the cost was more then listed price). In the U.S. the hotel would have compensated for the misunderstanding on both the room changing and the missing laundry. On the front desk / receptions with the billing is poor, I would rate it a 2 out of 5. But overall the hotel I would rate it between 3 or 4.

Equatorial experience

The only bad thing is the room is not yet available after 2:30 and they transferred me to a two single bed instead of king bed that i booked
