“george and maggie”
The appartments were fab, clean, plenty of space, top floors have the balconies, near to all bars and resturants, which were situated in small squares-lovely. We went last week april 2012, weather was fab but still a little chilly at night, bus service was excellent, every 10 mins into benalmadena but only went twice as the village was all we needed at night. Would go there every year loved it. Nothing for children to do mainly adults only, which is what we wanted. try it everyone, you too will love it.
“lovely hotel in a Spanish village”
I love this hotel and have stayed there twice this year. It has character and charm and is in a great location. Some building work spoils the view abit from the terrace which is sad because i suspect this will not improve when that building is finnished. The rooms are abit basic but the hotel is not expensive. i prefer staying in the hotel iyself rather than the apartments. The breakfast is very adequate and the village itself is lovely and so different from the costa!
“old spanish charm”
fantastic hotel, great location.....if you just want to relax & chill out this place is ideal
“Great value for money.”
We stayed in a one bedroom apartment in January - perfect weather and a smashing break. The hotel is quite well signposted in Benalmadena Pueblo, the streets are pretty narrow but we were able to drive right up to the apartment for unloading before parking in the large car park a couple of hundered yards away. The staff were helpful and the apartment was basic but perfectly adequate. The church was just a few yards away and is on a promentary surrounded by peaceful gardens with excellent views - a very pleasant place to enjoy the winter sun. The village is really well supplied with places to eat and drink - the hotel restaurant was very good and "La Nina" in the small town square was excellent.
“Beautiful traditional Spanish hotel.”
La Fonda is a really lovely hotel for someone looking for something representitive of Spanish culture. There is a lovely courtyard with a swimming pool and the breakfast terrace is a lovely place to eat in the morning, with views down the hill to the sea. The attached restaurant is very good, does a great paella and is good value. The surrounding village of Benalmadina Pueblo is very unspoilt with it's white buildings and little roads. My girlfriend and I really liked it and would go back.
“Peaceful location”
If you want somewhere quiet to go this is perfect - situated away from the marina and only a 10 min taxi ride to get you there if you wish. The village is very Spanish with white buildings and winding roads. There are also several restaurants very nearby serving lovely food.
“Beautiful Hotel”
This hotel isn't down on the coast, so it's easy to avoid the touristy environment that can be not-so-relaxing. It's an incredibly easy place to spend quality time and the pueblo that it's situated in has everything that you could possibly need. I don't recommend it for large families, anyone looking for crazy nightlife, or anyone that's out of shape, as you have to walk up about 7 flights of stairs if you use the back entrance. Perfect for a relaxing vacation.
“A great apartment!”
Maybe not the highest price in Spain, but it was indeed a great place to stay. Except the fact that it took my friend and I a few minutes to work out where the bed was! Also, initially, the Hotel is difficult to find. The swimming pool is also awesome, although a bit deep for children (1 metre 90), but it's all really private, and Benalmádena Pueblo, although slgihtly out of the way if you want a holiday with loads of beaches, bars and discos, is a really cute little part of Benalmádena - with a mix of tourism with Spanish culture and people. I'd definitely recommend it, and go there again.
“Fantastic place to stay”
We stayed in a one bedroom apartment and found it to be everything we wanted. Situated in a typical spanish street, it was quiet and interesting. The apartment had a small balcony at the front and a patio at the rear.Very well maintained and perfect for a restful holiday. The hotel itself was beautiful.Situated in another small street in the village, the staff were very friendly and polite. The perfect place for a restful holiday.
“Ideal base”
We stayed a week at La Fonda in November and found it an ideal base for pottering around the Costas without having to stay in a tacky coastal resort. The only initial problem was finding Benalmadena Pueblo. It is signposted from Benalmadena Costa but those signs are easy to miss. Keep your eyes peeled. The Pueblo itself was a delight, even in November, with its narrow streets, immaculately whitewashed buildings and a good selection of bars, restaurants, gift shops and convenience stores. The hotel has no parking to speak of but a splendid outdoor lift takes you down to a pay parking area (two-hour maxium stay between 8am and 3pm). There's a large free car park a couple of hundred yards away but this would be a bit of a hike for the elderly or infirm. The hotel itself has a charming, traditional feel and offered everything we wanted. The room was spacious and clean and had a balcony. The maid service was attentive and the comprehensive buffet breakfast (down a lot of stairs from our room, it has to be said) was just fine. There's cheap internet access in the reception area. Other visitors told us the hotel's apartments, which are sprinkled around the village, were ideal. The best restaurant in the Pueblo was Pepe's place beside the outdoor lift -- friendly, with fresh incredients delightfully cooked. We'd certainly stay at La Fonda again. It's a bargain.
