Helpfull StaffPosted Sep 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
Stayed there for three nights as we were renovating our appartment nearby. Staff were helpfull. room was standard but a good size, nice pool and within walking distance of the town (100-200m). Hotel is attached to a hotels school so I guess they use a lot of students to do on job training there...

First impressions when we arrive were very good! Although there is a school attached and we were drop off at the wrong place. When we did get to reception the staff were very helpful and show us to our room! The room it's self was very clean but disappointed that we where on the first floor, with a 12 year old not capable of getting her bag up the stairs was a challenge. No views only looking over the car park. Very limited Wi Fi in the room and no balcony so we could sit out side. The evenings were too quiet with no one using the bar so we eat out every evening. This hotel is good for couples not for families

Excellent value for the pricePosted Jul 7, 2013
Pros: Location, value, amenities.
Cons: Breakfast hot food is either undercooked or over cooked. Internet strength could be improved.
Walkable to several restaurants, the beach, grocery stores and bars. Front desk staff was incredibly helpful and spoke excellent English. The spa is pretty minimal but nice. I had a manicure and pedicure and the service was excellent. In addition, I ordered room service one night, very fast service and it tasted delicious! Breakfast was pretty standard and the hot food needs work but passable. The tv in my room didn't work but I never called it in. Internet is free but it can be a bit sketchy throughout the hotel. Parking is also free and pretty easy to find.

WONDERFUL PLACE TO STAYPosted Aug 7, 2012
Location: FANTASTIC, EASY TO WALK TO EVERYWHERE USING THE FOOTBRIDGE.
WE HAVE JUST STAYED IN THIS HOTEL FOR 7 NIGHTS AND IT WAS WONDERFUL. THE STAFF ARE TO BE COMMENDED ON THEIR SERVICE AS IT COULD NOT BE FAULTED. IT IS VERY EASY TO GET AROUND, WE WALKED INTO THE TOWN OF MIJAS NEARLY EVERYDAY USING THE WALKWAY ACROSS THE ROAD.

Lovely pool area and great foodPosted May 18, 2012 on Hotels.com
I appreciated the students who were working so hard, as well as their mentors who were patient and kind. The hotel is close to my sister's flat, so it worked well for my friends and me. The unmaintained lot next to the hotel was a bit of an eyesore, and detracted from the pleasant approach to the hotel.

Calamijas Hotel, ok, but could be greatPosted Oct 9, 2011 on Hotels.com
This is a really nice little hotel in a very convenient location, however, as all the staff are trainees, the service is very slow and not up to scratch. Many times, there is only one staff member to serve in the dining room and the bar, leading to long waiting times for servive. The menu is very short and not varied enough, and on one occasion my chicken breast arrived completly raw inside. This was deducted from the bill, but left me feeling to ill to eat anything....overall, the standard of cooking was poor. The room was basic, but clean and comfortable, and in general, the staff were friendly and helpful.

This is a good modern hotel but it is located across a dual carriageway/highway from the town/beach area. It's not far but it's a bit off-putting. I wasn't travelling with children but would be awkward to get to the village if you had a pram or pushchair.
